"Watch who you tell to fuck off pal. Show him the papers" Nils gestures to Volodimir.
"Watch yourself, pal! I'm union! The Interstellar Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers doesn't take kindly to the harassment and abuse of its members!"
I smile at him.
"You, my dear, are welcome to come aboard and change out of your filthy attire. I'm sure I can find a set of coveralls for you."

Volodimir holds the papers, in such a way as to have his thumb obscuring the photo. Then he folds it back.
"Careful about this, my man. We don't want no problem with any Union, but we're thinking a dangerous man has sneaked on your board. He's one from a group that we're looking for...kidnapping, drug dealing, murdering cops. You don't wnat to hide a cop killer, right? Then let us look into your ship."

OOC: WTF? Why the freighter?

"We have nothing to hide here. Step aboard and see for yourself. Don't mind the stink--the WC is overflowing and plumbing repairs are not my line. I was hoping you were the plumber I requested through starport services."

"Sorry. But hey, if we find the cop killer here, we'll make sure they send you a plumber right quick".

"Alright I'll have a look around..." Nils says stepping up the ramp "...if we find nothing sorry to have disturbed you"

Nils will slowly walk around the ship looking under beds and tables and taking a peak in the cargo holds, but really trying to gauge the number of people here and what weapons are on board.

OOC: WTF? Why the freighter?
OOC: My thinking was it's wide open and we can enter and assess the crew. It also has a much bigger cargo hold and lasers and missiles installed for some space :gunslinger:

As you look around, you find the cargo hold is mostly empty as the freighter is apparently awaiting its cargo and repairs before it lifts off again. As such, almost the entire crew is in Tropicana enjoying R&R. There are no weapons out in the open, but more than a few locked cabinets could contain something. In one of the corridors you almost bump into a woman wearing a flight suit exiting a hatchway from the bridge. She angrily calls down toward the mechanic, "Vihaan, you idiot! Did you verify with starport security before letting someone aboard?"

I chat up the mechanic to keep him busy. Being a pilot I know enough tech details to ask about the ship. I try and get more details about any crew aboard and the ship’s capacity, weapons in case of attack, etc.

"Hello Miss, sorry to bother you. My partner outside has the papers if you want to check but I think we're done here. Just an idiotic stowaway, doesn't seem to be here"

"Ah, let me tell you of this ship. You see, she looks to be but an ordinary freighter, does she not? But I, being perhaps the best aerospace mechanic in the sector, have made many improvements invisible to the naked eye. Does anyone credit me? Do they offer me more than a half-share? Alas, I go unappreciated. If you would like to come aboard I have schematics for this vessel in my quarters that I could show you..."

"I'm the navigator and executive officer of this ship and when the captain is away, I'm in command. No one is to board without my permission. I'm calling starport security to ask them about you--you're filthy and you stink and you don't look like any cop I've ever seen," she says as she turns to reenter the bridge.

If Trip sees no action at the guard shack he will move as quickly as he can without raising their attention, keeping his rifle concealed, to the freighter.

I'll answer this once I know what Nils does aboard the freighter...

Nils waits until the woman has turned before trying to knock her out with the butt of his shotgun

Volodimir follows on the freighter. He doesn't like the news with the leaking WC...
But if they are spotted, their cover - mostly darkness-based as it is - might well be blown. Including in the blown up way.
So it looks like they'd have to get the freighter.

OOC: OK, I was late in posting - what has he seen from the above events?

Nils waits until the woman has turned before trying to knock her out with the butt of his shotgun
THUNK!
Nils hears a sickening sound like bone cracking as the woman falls motionless to the floorboards.

Volodimir has seen Nils go aboard the freighter and watched Eloise distract the mechanic.

Trip sees a small starport ground support vehicle motoring out from the offices toward either the freighter or the yacht--it's hard to tell just yet, but either way it's headed in your general direction. It could be the requested plumber, or it could be something else. There's no way to know for sure.

Trip is unaware of any request for a plumber.

He'll keep the rifle trained on the support vehicle while scanning back occasionally at the guard shack.

Nils quickly heads away from the woman back toward the mechanic
Nils returns to the ramp entrance slowly. If the others can see him he will gesture to take out the mechanic at the ramp. Either way he will try to sneak up on the mechanic to knock him out.

If he gets a chance, Trip will use his comlink to message "All clear? You have incoming service vehicle"

Volodimir follows the others, still unsure why they picked the freighter.
Then he lingers near Trip, and misses Nils going off somewhere, right until he sees him again. Eloise is quite efficient by herself, but the major issues are bound to come from the outside, the ex-Marine reasons.
Seeing Nils' signs, Volodimir positions himself near the entrance, with his back to the wall near the door. He's waiting in a seemingly bored state, ready to act according to the situation. Grappling a single enemy so he could be subdued is an option. Then again, so is revolver-butting someone in the back of the head.

I follow the mechanic onboard, asking more questions along the way.

"If you'll but come to my quarters, I think you'll be quite impressed with my sketches..." continues the mechanic to Eloise.

The mechanic's attention is focussed on Eloise for the nonce. He's not looking behind. How are you going to knock him out?

There's no unusual activity at the moment, but the ground support vehicle is going to be able to see you with your weapon aimed at them in a few moments unless you conceal it.

You see Nils appear at the top of the ramp behind the mechanic; it appears he is about to descend.

There’s no reason he can’t contact someone with the commlink. I assume this is to Nils as he is the only one aboard the freighter. I'll let him respond to that.

Volodimir also sees Nils reappear at the top of the ramp into the freighter.
I follow the mechanic onboard, asking more questions along the way.
“Did I mention I save the lives of this ship’s crew on multiple occasions?” the mechanic asks Eloise. “You see, it was I who convinced the owners that no unarmed merchant ship is safe on the frontier. They didn’t want to incur the additional expense. I’m not too humble to admit that it was I who persuaded them with tales of my personal experiences. Did I mention I fought off a boarding party of pirates almost single-handed?” He turns to lead Eloise up the ramp, adding, “Come, my dear, I’ll show you my scars and you can show me yours…”

Séadna Séadna, the mechanic will see you behind him in the next moment, so if you can describe what Nils does, I’ll adjudicate how it goes down. If anyone else is doing anything aside from waiting or speaking, let me know so I can factor that in as well.

"All clear? You have incoming service vehicle"
'Shit, gotta be quick' Nils thinks to himself and approaches the mechanic slowly to knock him out with the butt of his shotgun.

Trip conceals his rifle and himself as best he's able to with priority going to concealing the rifle.

"So far nothing shows a hostile posture. No sense creating one." He thinks.

Two things he's not planning to do: shoot, or let anyone get back to the control tower.

Once the mechanic has turned his back I take my pistol out and pistol whip him in the back of the head and hope I don't kill him.

Almost simultaneous to the mechanic's realization of Nils' intemperate and nefarious intentions, before the bearded man can let out more than the croaky first syllable of a protesting word, violence strikes from a less suspected quarter as Eloise brutally bashes him on the back of the skull, causing his head to jerk back toward the impact even as body falls forward, face-first, into Nils' boots.

Even as the mechanic is subdued, Trip and Volodimir observe the service vehicle carries both a driver and a passenger, the former of whom is now steering directly toward the freighter and the latter of whom is speaking into a handheld communication device. Both men are wearing dark glasses that make their expressions inscrutable, and both are garbed in beige uniforms. Neither appears to be armed, but due to the frame of the vehicle's windscreen you can only see them from the torso to the head. However, you feel there is a good chance they saw Eloise assault the mechanic...

If Trip sees the Driver on the com he will move more quickly to engage.

Volodimir is surprised at them steering directly towards the freighter, but he waits for them to close.
"Eloise? Go to the control room, see if we can make an emergency lift-off! We don't need to fight if we can leave!"

Nils nods to Eloise.

"Commander's right, let's get this thing in the air"

He heads to the ramp gesturing to Trip for him to hop on.

The ground service vehicle skids to a halt about 50 yards off and an amplified voice states: “You are on the field without authorization! Place your hands behind your heads and proceed toward the vehicle! Starport security is en route!”

Sure enough, you see in the distance, approaching from the main buildings, two vehicles with flashing lights racing toward you.
Nils nods to Eloise.

I run for the bridge to start the freighter up.
Eloise rushes past Nils on the ramp and heads for where the freighter’s bridge must be located, judging by the exterior of the ship
You pass through the engineering section and through a hatchway, down a corridor with hatches on either side, presumably entrances to staterooms or lounges, and then to a forward hatch into the bridge. There are five seats on the bridge: two for gunners, one for the pilot, one for the navigator, and one for computer operations. The ship’s controls are standard and you’re confident you can get the engines running and achieve liftoff within minutes, provided there is nothing wrong with the drives and power plants and there’s enough fuel in the tanks. Switching on the computer, you see the familiar flight control screen:

There seem to be two preprogrammed jumps in the computer as well.

Trip pulls out his rifle and fires shots at the service vehicle.

"Well...It's time for our blaze of glory", Volodimir says, and aims at the vehicle. He makes sure to remain in cover as much as possible, but isn't planning to waste bullets, as long as the vehicles aren't coming closer.

Nils kneels on the edge of the ramp with his shotgun out, ready to cover Trip when he tries to enter.

I start it all up and check the fuel. I lock the bridge entrance to make sure no one can sneak up on me. I turn on the outside cameras to see what’s going on and prepare to close the freighter’s doors when the time is right.

The freighter has recently been refueled and the log indicates the crew was only waiting for delivery of a cargo before lifting off. You've enough fuel for intrasystem operations and two jumps, but then you'll need to obtain more to go anywhere else.

There's an unconscious crewwoman, obviously Nils' gentle handiwork, lying just outside the hatchway, but she looks to be down for some time to come if the bloody bump on the back of her head is anything to go by.

The cameras on the outside of the ship are aimed only at the entryway and the cargo area to prevent theft, sabotage, or unauthorized entry. You can see Nils, Trip, and Volodimir by the entrance apparently engaging in a firefight, although no one is shooting back. You're ready to take off any time, but you'll need to choose a navigation program before you can jump anywhere.

Trip's bullets puncture the side of the ground service vehicle, leaving holes in it. Inside the vehicle, the driver and passenger both duck down for cover.
Nils kneels on the edge of the ramp with his shotgun out, ready to cover Trip when he tries to enter.
You hear the freighter's engine roar to life and it lurches a bit, unsteadying you. Meanwhile as the two oncoming vehicles close the distance you now see that one carries a surface-to-air missile launcher and the other has a rear-mounted laser cannon. Both are well-armored and sounding their sirens and flashing their lights. You can't see how many men or women might be inside due to the small view-slits in the armor. The missile launcher stops behind the ground service vehicle and the weapon system rises and rotates to take aim at the freighter. The laser cannon does likewise after stopping in front of the other vehicles, its armor making your small arms fire useless.

I check the starmaps and find the closest inhabited planets. If there’s an intercom to the outside I turn it on and say ‘Let’s jet!’

Trip runs in to try and find the turret controls to return fire at the missle launcher.

I check the weapons installed on the ship.

"Finally! Let's leave the damn planet to the snakes, and may they swallow it...but fly us up, and we'll find something to hold to!"
And Volodimir ducks away from the entrance, looking for a handhold or comfortable couch.
Obviously the enemy is planning heavy weapons fire. So now he just has to find a way to make the flying off as comfortable as possible, given the multi-g acceleration.
