Eloise comes in from the refresher, drying her hair. 'What the frag have you lot been doing?!' I tend to her wounds. 'Is there a sick bay and med supplies on this tug,' I ask her.

"Just aft and starboard of the bridge," she says. "Your boyfriends play rough. I can tell we're in jumpspace from the vibrations in the deck plates. What's our course?"

"What should it be to avoid unwanted attention?" Asks Trip thumbing his SMG.

"The Saffron system, you ever been there?"

"The Saffron system, you ever been there?"
"Nearly every month for the past three years. If that's the program you used, you'd better let me on the bridge to make a correction."

"What kind of correction? We'll be left days from a settled world or something?"

"It's an old program we got for cheap. It doesn't take into account recent changes so manual corrections are required every time we jump there."

‘Even if true we can’t trust her, especially now that we’ve put a bullet in her,’ I say. ‘So let me get you fixed up, where’s the med bay?’

"Yeah let's roll the dice and see what happens. I'm pretty sure we're already sentenced to death in this system so it's just a question of when we'd die." Trip opines nonchalantly.

"Hey, you want to plough right into the orbiting casino," she shrugs, "what the hell, you're probably going to kill me anyway."

"Works for me" Trip says coldly trying to gauge the prisoners reaction as a check against her honesty.

"Cool. What do you want to do with the last six days of your life? I'd like to get my leg patched and then see what there is to eat, then probably see what drugs I can take to put myself to sleep."

I take the prisoner to the med bay. ‘Y’all keep your distance,’ I say. ‘Nils come guard outside the door in case she tries something.’

I leave the door to the med bay dilated so Nils can see us. Once we’re (relatively) alone I ask her, ‘So what’s your name?’

"Got it Eloise" Nils says as he takes up position outside the Med Bay.

"My name is Bai Ziyi, first officer and navigator of the Vera Caspary, and your friends are going to make us collide with the orbital casino at Saffron unless we manually alter the course of this vessel."

‘Look Bai, I promise I won’t let anyone hurt you again, as long as you cooperate, we’ll even return your ship to you. There’s no percentage in us killing you or keeping this tug. But I need to be able to trust you. Explain to me the maths behind the navigation drift and I’ll confirm them with the controls and make the adjustment.’

She gives you some complicated equations to enter into the navcom if you want to avoid colliding with an orbital station that is not taken into account in the antiquated program the ship has been running. "Are you a navigator?"

"You know we can always jump somewhere else." Trip say

‘I’m a bit of everything honey,’ I say. ‘You rest here and eat.’ I take the equations to the control room.

‘Anyone of you pilots too? Wanna look at these with me and see what you think?’ I run the equations into the Mother computer as ask it to calculate their results on our arrival location.

After a few minutes the computer responds that you'll enter the Saffron system a safe 100 diameters out and proceed on course to a satellite orbiting the planet at an altitude of 600 kilometers.

Nils decides to stay in the Med Bay since he lacks any kind of knowledge of starships. He decides to talk to Bai

"So, have you seen much of the sector?"

"So, have you seen much of the sector?"
"You could say that--if you consider starports and lowtowns to be seeing the sector. You shoot many strangers?"

"Yes, and so have I, and probably everyone else on board. It's called war", Volodimir replies.

"Now, miss, let me tell you the situation. We fought a war and won, but they sent us off world because we were a liability. Then we tried to get a new life doing relatively peaceful work on that planet. Result: we got crossed again, by a crook, and had to kidnap your ship and run off world just to save our hides. Now the reason I'm telling you that is not because I want your sympathy - you have to keep in mind we're kinda at an edge. Some of us are holding it better, some worse, but don't set anyone off. I'll talk to the guy who shot you to avoid any incidents in the future, but you should not provoke him. He's one of those that hold it worse as you might have noticed."

Then he goes out, and leaves it to Nils to do the explaining.

'Focus boys, if no one has any issues with the calculations I'm going to use them to adjust our course. And no one hurts the prisoner again unless she tries something and even in that case hit her in the gut as she's no use to us dead and there's no percentage in killing her.'

Trip tries to get Eloise and Volodimir's attention. When possible he tells her "When you have a moment we should talk."

OOC: Volodimir or Eloise? Because it's him, if the former. If he wants to meet Volodimir, he's going out once he says his spiel.

If Trip means Eloise I tell him to meet me at the control panel as I review the calculations one more time.

OOC is anyone else there to watch the prisoner of Eloise, Trip and Vol all leave?

"You could say that--if you consider starports and lowtowns to be seeing the sector. You shoot many strangers?"
After Volodimir leaves he turns to and says:

"Regarding the shooting of strangers, well I've shot more people then I would like. All of us have. Our journey up to this point has been pretty messed up"

"It'll end in a big splat all over Saavedra's Folly if you don't use those course corrections."

Nils eyes her a bit trying to read her expression, but deep down he believes her.

"We'll see what the others say"

Trip catches Volodimir and Eloise in a corridor and says
"Look I may have overreacted but it's highlighting a problem. We're reacting too much and don't have a plan and standard operating procedures or rules of engagement. If we keep running like this we might survive on luck and basic competency but I suspect we'll be at each other's throats questioning each other's decisions pretty soon. There's only so long we can function well as a group of individuals vs as a team."

You get no impression that she's lying, but she seems resigned to the fact that one of you will kill her.

'If we get into a tight spot we need one person to decide when to draw, who is the coolest head here?'

Volodomir nodds.
"Yeah, I was thinking the same thing... and well, I think the answer to Eloise's question is actually Nils."

The guilt from previous killings begins to mount in Nils, he can't bring himself to look at her directly.

"Look Bai, if there are no problems I promise I won't let any harm come to you. You'll make it through this"

Volodomir nodds.

‘Sounds good, we’ll let him know.’ If no one else has more to say I input Bai’s calculations into the controls.

Nils backs up to the door while looking at Bai and shouts out of the medbay

"What's the decision on those coordinate adjustments?"

He then addresses Bai.

"Do you want us to leave you somewhere in particular or just let you go at the next starport?"

"Give me some credits and turn me loose at the casino if it's all the same to you."
