Real Life and What's Happening...

Best Selling RPGs - Available Now @ DriveThruRPG.com
I'm still loving RPGs, and am very glad that I currently have lots of opportunities to play and GM.

But I am completely burned out on modern board games. My current status re: board/card games is that I don't want to play anything more complicated than UNO, and I most definitely do not want to play something that will require me learning new rules.

They found the couple that drown a month ago a half mile from my house in 110' of water. They've been out all month long searching for them with a ROV. I'm happy for the families to have closure and selfishly happy I won't find a body on my beach anytime soon.

Inktober this month.

Just found out about Inktober randomly from an unrelated KS update while I was studying for mid-terms, but the prompt of "Ring" immediately put this image in my head and I had to stop and jot it out before bed. Sharpie and micron pen, 8 minutes.

Colorado House was the first 2-story building in San Diego and was later turned into a Wells Fargo station in 1851. Now it's a Wells Fargo museum.

There are donkeys in the corral around the south side of the stable.

I guess some interesting people come to Old Town to preach, pontificate, rant, rave, and otherwise harass visitors, but unfortunately (?) nobody was doing it today.

So, after finally convincing the wife and children it would be fun to check out the classic car club event* that happens close to my neighborhood every Thursday evening (free and open to anyone who wants to check it out), I discovered it's only during the summer! ¡Maldición!

On the bright side, at least I found out before we showed up and just saw a bunch of disappointing Toyota Corollas, Honda Accords, and Kia Fortes parked there.

But it's San Diego. Does summer end there?

Hey! The sites back up! I don't know what happened but I was in the middle of uploading a picture of Alf to the Cthulu premise thread and suddenly the site couldn't be reached.
It seemed to be down from around 5pm to 2pm today at the earliest.

The building in question is a "Peel Tower". Fans of British folklore should thus recognize the fellow associated with such places...

Never heard of a Peel Tower before. Looking at Wikipedia, it must be a Northern thing, or a Borders thing. Is the wee fella a type of goblin?

Peel towers were set up at the Northern borders. After being largely abandoned in the late Middle Ages, they were said to be home to a certain malicious type of Goblin called a Redcap, as they would dye their hats red by soaking it in the blood of their victims

These past couple of months have been stressful, my car was broken into a couple of weeks ago, and then one of my neighbors had their cars window smashed. I grew up in a small town where you could leave your front door unlocked while you went to the grocery store, and it's all a bit of a culture shock living in the city. In addition to worrying about my stuff getting stolen, I've had to juggle work and school. I've noticed that several of my coworkers and classmates have lost any passion/joy from working in the field and I've been feeling demoralized by their lack of pride/effort in their work. It's kind of weakened my faith in humanity somewhat.
On the positive side, I've been sleeping better thanks to melatonin my doctor recommended, and I've finally gotten settled into a new D&D group.

The site wasn't down, it just (understandably) rejected your attempt to post a picture of Gordon Shumway.

I can understand that. He does eat cats after all, and if I've learned anything about the internet, it's that it loves cats.
