I hate geese. A free roaming thread.

Fun fact: there is a statue of a Martian in the pedestrian mall in Woking. Horsell is now a suburb of Woking and one of the many parts of London's commuter belt that I have had occasion to be domiciled in. Horsell Common is now mostly forested. There's also a Games Workshop just down the road (something that can be said of just about every substantial town in the UK). Just up from it is an installation of a crashed space capsule. Behind that is a Hawker Hunter on a pedestal.

My sister lives about ten minutes from Grover's Mill, NJ, the landing site in the Orson Welles version. While not as elaborate, they have a plaque at the landing site.

I took the plunge and bought it, but my two spawn haven't really given me a chance to do much with it yet.
That's how the geese get your money!

I suppose it had to happen ...

Ahh I see the most potent weapon in it's arsenal has been left off. Turds. Long, green, greasy and odiferous. They lay them down as a trap around any place they begin staking claim to.
We used to have a couple of muscovy ducks (a slightly less anti-social species of goose rather than a true duck) and boy did they shit everywhere.

Just saw this on Facebook. They say it's a duck, but it is clearly a goose.

In case you can't see it on Facebook, I have downloaded the video, but cannot load it here.

I don't approve of these perverted acts!

so did anyone else notice in the new Rick & Morty opening, there's a scene of Rick fighting a 2-headed goose?

Ok this isn't about Geese, but Ducks are a related species ...

It's strange how they are so similar physically but so completely different personalities. I like ducks. They don't poop everywhere. They aren't hostile in my experience. I accept them as a valid Runequest race .

There is a duck pond not far from my house. The ducks there love to sun themselves across the street from the pond a few times a day, so there is a duck crosswalk marked with a sign. The ducks always cross at the crosswalk in an organized fashion. They are responsible, law-abiding members of the community.

I also just sold a house that backs onto the pond, and the buyers were thrilled by the ducks. The presence of ducks actually enhanced the value of the house and the amount of my commission. I have nothing bad to say about ducks.
