Been reading the 30th Anniversary Edition of WEG First Edition. Seeing those pics above of Han and Leia are bittersweet now that we know what a total shitshow their lives supposedly became. I almost have to run a Star Wars campaign just to right things in my head.

Got Savaged Six-Guns: The James-Younger Gang for Savage Worlds Adventure Edition. It's pretty short, but also free. Gives some historical info about the James-Younger Gang, including photographs, and then stats them up as Savage Worlds characters. I think it will be pretty handy for my crew's current Western adventure.

Bit of a cheat this but I decided to get these printed professionally. Its been mentioned a lot here, more than a few times by Stevethulhu Stevethulhu for example, and I do already have the re-released Star Wars 1e set produced by FFG but I kinda like the presentation of these, in the four easy-to-manage books:

I'm definitely pleased with the results.
That's a thing of beauty. Where did you get them printed?

This is why I'm glad I've not seen the newer films.

In my headcannon I'm fine with Zahn's Trilogy as the future of the Star Wars story

You'll have to discard the Prequels if you want to keep the (In my opinion) much better idea of what the Clone Wars were. Lucas' films made Zahn's books non-canon when he made the Clone Wars Metal vs. Flesh Robots back in 2002.

(Not saying you can't, I'm just point out that Lucas himself made it non-canon officially.)

I try everyday. Mostly forgotten the second 2 already, but the Phantom Menace hangs on like a stain on my psyche

My John Carter of Mars finally arrived - there was a hickup in the kickstarter delivery, and I initially only received the GM screen. So it's better late than never. Absolutely beautiful book, but will have to see how it plays

I also have the Vampire the Masquerade 5E limited edition (white hardcover).
Another truly beautiful book for my coffee table.

Now, it will be a miracle if I get enough time to actually try these out...

These SW books were quite a lot (about 20 quid each) but I had a voucher so got them for about 15. I also went with the paperback option so they have a spine but they do offer other, cheaper, options like saddle-stitch booklets which I think these would be okay as.

I've used them quite a lot - especially for printing out my housrules for The One Ring:

Now those were a huge labour of love, pulling together all my notes, putting the content together, making them look professional, etc.

I picked up Zozer Games' Roughnecks expansion for HOSTILE recently. A good read so far, and a supplement I plan to get some use out of for an upcoming campaign.

HOSTILE is the only game line I bought the hell out of in the past year. It hasn't disappointed.
I've wanted to run an Alien/Outland-inspired campaign for some time - and considered doing it with Free League's Alien Rpg. But HOSTILE's variation of Cepheus Engine/MongooseTraveller system ticks a lot more boxes for me.

Filigree Forge dropped 2 new supplements for Everywhen; a pwyw supplement adding to armor and weapons, and another setting called Gloom. Snagged those and the Manimals supplement that had been sitting in my wishlist. Also picked up various pdfs of supervillains for Supers!, and some stuff for M&M (which I plan on converting)

Not really RPGs but I'm happy about these new acquisitions anyway.

Back when I first got my B/X Basic set back in 1981, it came with an advertising pamphlet. One of the games mentioned in that pamphlet was Dawn Patrol. I was intrigued by the concept, a fighter pilot role playing game! But no store ever had the game. In the late 80s one of my game crew had a copy, but he wanted more for it than I could pay and no one wanted to play it anyway. So years passed. Now I finally decided to get my own copy. It's pretty minty.

I've had complete components for the Starship Duel games for a while, but as of today, I finally have the box I was missing.

The Starship Duel games were part of a group of cheap pocket style games FASA was doing around 1984. As you can see, there was also a Last Starfighter game. All three of these games featured movement via a wheel which could track where your opponent was and your relative facings. They were about $3 at the time when they were new. I never saw the Starship Duel games in stores, but I've had The Last Starfighter since back in the day. In this past year, I've been able to score both Trek games as well as replace missing pieces for my Last Starfighter game.

The Starship Duel games have extra wheels so you can mix and match. The sets are Enterprise vs Bird of Prey and Reliant vs L9 Frigate, but you can swap out wheels and have Kirk in the Enterprise battle Khan in the hijacked Reliant.

I can't tell from the pic, are those regular numbered dice with some kind of fancy pattern on them, or some sort of symbol dice?

I got Worlds of Pulp: Random Event Tables for Any Classic Western RPG. It's not amazing or anything, but it is useful for the current Western arc in my Savage Worlds game. For $1.99, I feel that I got more than my money's worth.

Sorry, my photography sucks even when I carefully set things up and it's even worse when I just throw something together and snap.

The dice have a number on them taking up the lower right of each face. They also have a symbol. It's probably clearest to see on the blue die below and to the right of Minmei.

1 = RDF kite
2 = Monster side view
3 = Tomahawk (plus small lettering spelling T hawk)
4 = Valkyrie in battloid mode
5 = SDF-1 in attacker mode
6 = Super Valkyrie in fighter mode (plus small lettering spelling super)

Caldcrow Games' Worlds of Pulp have caught my attention a couple of times but their pdf assortment is kind of confusing and overwhelming; it's not exactly clear what is what. It seems like they offer several games, but are these all separate games or is it a core book and a number of supplements? some clarity would be nice. Are you familiar with their stuff? Is it any good?

I have a few of the Worlds Of Pulp random tables. Will have to check which ones.

Sorry, I don't really know anything about their stuff other than what I already posted. It just happened to be what came up when I searched "Western Encounters" or something like that on DTRPG. The item I bought is exactly what it says on the tin: random event tables for any Western RPG. If they have their own system, I'm unfamiliar with it.

There was 2 rpgs originally: Rotwang City and Amazing Pulp Adventures (which is actually a Golden Age Superhero rpg). Cape Noire (which is either based on a comic or book series) came later. The other supplements that have Worlds of Pulp in the title are mostly tables/charts to build things, and I think 2 are characters for using with APA. The other titles in there are not part of Worlds of Pulp, and just seem to be other Scaldcrow Games products. Bare Bones Beyond, iirc, is just the generic rules that power the other 3 rpgs. I own Rotwang City/APA (as both books were part of the same kickstarter), but I only skimmed them after I got them, and haven't done anything with them since. From what I recall, the rules looks serviceable, but having never played or run it, that's all I know

Tunnels & Trolls 5th Edition (Flying Buffalo version), with the following adventures:

Caravan of Tiern
City of Terrors
Catacombs of the Bear Cult
Isle of Darksmoke

All in good condition. $37.01+free shipping on eBay.

A 13 year old laser printer. HP LaserJet 5200. A3, duplexing, Postscript, networked. It replaced a device that got bashed about in a house move a few years ago. Took a few years to get around to it.

The reason I got it (secondhand) is that it costs less than a set of toner cartridges for my M475 multifunction device and the running costs are about 1p/page. Ex-lease office lasers are great value for money.

Had this in pdf for a couple of years. Like it so much that I've ordered the POD. Should be here in the next few days. Coupled with the old Shadow World Quelleborne: Land of Silver Mists book, this will take care of a decent sized campaign.

Wow I just love what you've done here, especially mixing artwork from Angus McBride / MERP, Ralph Bakshi etc and tying it all in with the current look of TOR, very impressive

Thankyou! I do perhaps take my fan/houseruled work a little too seriously. I even did 'blurbs' on the back covers like you'd sorta get with a real publication:

Totally crackers, really!

If you're interested in taking a closer look, assuming you haven't, then the link in my signature here points to the thread over on RPGGeek where there are links to all the PDFs.

Just picked up Strange Tales of Songling by BedrockBrendan BedrockBrendan. I am printing it up to read (and plan on getting the book when a print run comes out). Got through the first two chapters, and like it so far. Hope to give this a test run for the Babies with Knives podcast in the future
That's great. I'd love to hear how it goes for you. As Brendan is very serious about playtesting, I know he'd he'd really appreciate getting to hear your group giving it a trial run. I didn't know you were on a podcast, but I've gone ahead and subscribed.

It won't be much longer before printed copies are ready. You can be sure that I will be sharing some photos in this thread when I have one in my hands.

I am a guest GM for BWK. I've only run one game so far (Simply Supers), but they would like to me to run other games. Right now, Strange Tales and Paleomythic are ones I want to run for them.

I don't have a regular group myself for this, but there are some regulars who play the games they feature in their videos. I suspect one or more will be involved, including at least one (or both) of the hosts.

Sweet. I'm definitely getting one, and will use the one I printed up and put in a binder as an extra if I ever get to run this face to face. Not sure if it would work for Free RPG Day, given they give you just shy of 2 hours to run something (though I guess a more straightforward situation with an easy mystery to solve/creature to beat might fit in that time frame)

I just okayed the proofs, so it will be printing and going into distribution this week or next I think.

The adventures in the book would be a tight squeeze for 2 hours, but the game is entirely suitable for shorter encounters with the strange.

In addition to the monster section in the book, you might want to take a look at Brendan's blog. If you scroll down the right column, there is subsection called "Gaming Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio". It's a series of blog posts where Brendan read a story from Pu Songling's book and turned it into an encounter for Wandering Heroes of Ogre Gate. That series led to Strange Tales of Songling becoming a game. Wandering Heroes has more mechanical detail, but it is basically the same system as Strange Tales. You should find it a good source for quick adventure ideas.

Recently, I got a new laptop for work, and due to being a smaller device it only had an HDMI port, not a VGA one. My secondary monitor I used when working from home was VGA-only and (despite trying an adapter) it wouldn’t work with my new machine.

I decided that if I consolidated my 19in monitor and 40in HDTV (used for XBOX when not working...) I could maybe go with a new, big monitor. They’ve come down in price radically in recent years, so I decided to treat myself to a 32in 4K monitor.

Wow, I love this thing:

That’s two full-size pages from PDF books. I can also do two-times full-size A4 which is amazingly useful for work. If you like to go-digital then a good screen pays for itself many times over.

Chivalry & Sorcery 5th Edition via KS. Hardcover, full colour medieval fantasy goodness. It’s quite the tome!

Absolutely - My kit is a generation older but I have a 2.5k monitor that is very much the dog's bollocks. You can get good screens quite cheaply these days, and they're well worth the spend. Unfortunately my older Thinkpads don't support 4k monitors, so I have no short term plans to upgrade as it would require swapping out pretty much all of my kit at once.

I am #00FF00 with envy.
