So, in early March, I was thinking, "Okay, it's been a year-ish since my ladyfriend and I parted company; maybe I should listen to my friends and get around to making a dating profile."

And then my state shut down.

But now, it's starting to reopen....

Just go to a bar; you might have to fight them off though

No no. Social distancing will mean smaller turnout at bars. Go to a nail/hair salon. Almost 100% ladies and you'll see what you will actually be looking at in quarantine next time.

I guess you didn't see how fast social distancing went out the window the minute the Michigan supreme court overturned the state's stay at home orders. They did a news story in a bar that was packed, no masks, no social distancing. There isn't going to be smaller turnouts everywhere (only where the people are actually sane)

Soooo your suggesting he go find a crazy gal?

After all the lockdowns, is anyone truly sane anymore?
I'm pretty happy honestly. I had a bad day or two but I was already socially isolated. Now everyone is so I have more company. It's been great for finding online games, not having to argue about why I can't go do something or travel somewhere. Traffic is oddly way up because all the friggin bikes on the road. But I'm not in a hurry most of the time. Even when I should be in a hurry I don't rush because that's my alone time. I'm weird and it's turning out to be awesome for once!

Joy, getting furloughed for part of the rest of the school year and having to fill out the unemployment paperwork with less than 24 hours so we can access CARES Act funds Is how I expected to spend my morning:thumbsdown:.
If I didn't know better I'd almost think you were being sarcastic!

This is what's left after I tossed obvious junk that was cluttering the bathroom cabinets and drawers...

...I'm pretty sure some of this haul had no business being in the bathroom to begin with.

I know, right?

Its the time crunch that was stressful. Everyone from the Superintendent down is being furloughed and the money saved rolled over into next years budget. Hopefully, along with savings from going to a four day school week, will allow the district to avoid furlough days next school year.

Just finished conference call with president and CEO of my job; I am getting a cash bonus plus a raise for my efforts since we went remote. To give some perspective the work I was doing is now being taken care of by 2 teams of two people; it was absolutely insane. It feels great to have my hard work formally acknowledged and rewarded, a lot of employers reward hard work with more work.

My sister-in-law and her boyfriend have both been fired. They were employees of Friday's in Mexico City. She was a branch manager, he worked as a cook. They have a 3-year old son and she also has an 19-year old son from her deceased husband. They also own two dogs.

Other than this we're OK. It's fortunate that my wife got her permanent contract recently so we can afford to send money their way.

On a more positive note, my wife started taking lessons with my Spanish teacher to perfect her Dutch. She's also still enjoying learning Japanese.

We're still working and there has been no significant problem so far. Now that some of the semi-lockdown measures are being lifted, the risk of someone getting infected will increase some, so I have stressed to my superior that they should hurry up getting proper measures in place for maintaining the social distancing better. Apparently they're working on it but there had been some delays acquiring the necessary materials. I proposed a new layout for the coffee/lunch corner that would allow everyone to sit at a proper distance from eachother.

Two year old daughter has me dancing with her to (mostly anime) soundtracks for an hour each day. I really like dancing so it's been a good laugh.

We've also had the local forest reopened so it's nice to be getting a bit of more varied exercise.

Everything gets crowded here as soon as the weather's "nice" or some measure gets lifted... It's annoying.
Our population density is one seventh of yours so things are never crowded (even now with people "flooding" to parks) especially once you leave Dublin.

I wouldn't mind our population getting decimated somewhat by this virus if only people acting stupid died from it and it didn't burden the healthcare system. Unfortunately that's not how it works.

Of course, in Ireland a forest is defined as two trees within 10 feet of each other...
You lot with your massive trees, canyons, forests and other incredible landscapes can't appreciate the fine distinctions between the 700 types of featureless fields with cows.

I'd be jealous if you Yanks weren't so lovable.

So, I've recently had ten weeks off, followed by three days of work. Currently readjusting to the concept of "weekend" having meaning.

It's like the whole world got had summer break but couldn't see their friends and now they have to go back to school.

Not me. I've had mandatory OT in the middle of my weekends. I've been in summer school the whole time

Been playing the initial scenarios for Memoir 44' with the wife since we're still in quarantine. It has been fun although she keeps kicking my butt.

Lesson learned here is don't be valuable. The reward is more work while the rest of us get to stay home and play games. You need to suck more.

Been getting back into Digimon again. That could make a great D&D game.

Oh I'm not valuable. My job is

I'm actually getting more gaming in since the pandemic. I just ran one today (third session of a campaign), and next week is a one shot. Played a bit too. So I've got "balance"
