"Kinda like running out of bullets, but with a less immediate risk of capture in your future?", Volodimir asks, seeking a clarification.

Nils shouts back "Another door, similar to the last one. I'll hack this one"

Nils gets to work dismantling and then trying to hack the pad.

OOC: Relevant skills Mechanical 1 and Electronic 1. Nils is using his Electronic toolkit to perform the hack. Die roll of 9 (3,6) if necessary
It takes a few minutes of concerted effort, but fortunately the mechanism is out of date and Nils' combination of skills and tools enables him to bypass the need to enter a code and to override the inbuilt security protocols of the system. The hatch gives out a little puckering sound that indicates the airtight seal has been broken and you can easily open it whenever you feel ready to do so.

Volodimir puts some distantce between himself and the new hatch, covering Nils. Of course, being outside of the first hatch would help with a possible explosion as well!

Nils stands up and looks to Volodimir.

"Let's have a peek"

Nills opens the hatch a bit to take a look beyond.
It's fairly dark aside from some faint amber lights that dimly flicker overhead. You see what looks to be a cloakroom-cum-locker room measuring about 15 feet by 20 feet, with the ceiling about 12 feet from the floor. All walls except the one through which you would enter are lined with equipment storage lockers, benches, hooks for hanging up articles of clothing, and pegs for hanging up belts and such. There is a round sphincter-type doorway at the far end with a two buttons, glowing red and green respectively, on the right side of the door but no other apparent controls. Some sort of filaments or fibers seem to be dangling from overhead across a good portion of the room, but it's unclear what they are.

Nils describes the room to the others over the comms. He'll then head down the locker room to the far end with the round doorway and hit the green button to open it.

Trip replies "Nothing?!? Man I thought I was cold. "
He follows Nils in.
"I just know you, and thus can calculate the odds of what you said being true", Volodimir explained before following Nils.

Eloise loses sight of the men as they enter the control tower through the smashed hatch.

In case AsenRG AsenRG and Bunch Bunch didn't see the earlier description to Séadna Séadna:

Beyond the hatch is a cloakroom-cum-locker room measuring about 15 feet by 20 feet, with the ceiling about 12 feet above the floor. The room is lit by dim amber lights in the ceiling that flicker as if nervous. Some sort of filaments or fibers dangle from overhead and are strewn about a good portion of the room. The filaments appear to be organic. All walls except the one through which you entered are lined with equipment storage lockers, benches, hooks for hanging up articles of clothing, and pegs for hanging up belts and such. There is a round sphincter-type doorway at the far end with a two buttons, glowing red and green respectively, on the right side of the door but no other apparent controls.

As you move into the room, yellow dust blows in from outside and begins to settle across the floor. Nils presses the green button and the doorway revolves open with a little gasp of air. Nils sees--and the others can see over his shoulder--a cramped, poorly lit control room. The wall facing the tarmac is lined with a series of consoles and computers, all lit up and apparently functional, but all covered by a thin layer of strange fibers which also dangle from the amber lights overhead. The room appears to be unoccupied except for a body lying face-down and motionless on the floor near a doorway that presumably leads into the rest of the building. The face-down body is also covered by a thin layer of filaments, but Nils can see it's garbed in a light-blue utilitarian jumpsuit such as you'd expect a private-sector spaceport traffic control operator to wear. Yellow dust begins to blow in through the sphincter door Nils opened, some settling on the body as it begins to cover the floor.

Imagine something not unlike this

"Eloise. Keep a watch on our vitals if you can. We have something strange here. Some sort of organic filaments are all over down here. We got a body as well. " Trip relays.

"We're breathing self contained air right?" He checks with the others while readying his weapon.

"Yes, we are", Volodimir confirms. "Thanks the Stars for the bad air on this planet...and don't touch the filaments at all, if possible. Or don't touch them without backup, at least. Those look like spidernet to me...under a certain angle at least!"
He checks their 6 and above them just to be sure.

'Take care,' Eloise says over the comms. She turns to the old man. 'Do you know what those filaments could be?'

Nils glances over the consoles to see if they are displaying anything of interest. He'll also look about for notebooks, log journals or even manuals etc to get a feel for the place.

Volodimir crouches to examine the body for wounds - as well as it's possible to do so without touching it.
