I will happily listen to any Christmas song as long as I don't have to listen to The Christmas Shoes. Chirstmas is supposed to be happy, why would you make a depressing Christmas song?
I have a fondness for depressing Christmas songs, but I expect the artist to commit properly.

I love this song so much Rhi is thoroughly sick of it.

May the odds be ever in your favor.

I forgot about Whamageddon this year and watched Now 80s! which I had forgotten becomes Now Christmas! so I saw the video for Last Christmas on 1st December.

Clearly, that didn't count, because I said so, but walking through the doors of Poundland on Friday 4th December to hear Last Christmas as I walked in definitely does count.

I tempted fate and briefly went into a Marks & SPencers department store. I was pretty sure my number was up in Whamageddon terms, but I managed to get away with just a "Jingle Bell Rock" so I still in the fight!

It's funny. I hear that song and I hear a gal who wod like to stay but she's worried staying with someone perhaps unacceptable to her friends could get her "Cancelled" from her social network. Seems surprisingly relevant.
I'd agree, with the slight modification that it's not so much her friends, as the fact she's actively asking for help coming up with a cover story for what she wants to do. That would fit with when the song was written. In 1944 staying over with a man wouldn't have been socially acceptable, so it's a way of politely asking if he minds taking the blame for her.

Lines like " Well maybe just a half a drink more" and "At least I'm gonna say that I tried" don't suggest resistance to me.

I'm out. I was on a kiddie TV programme, waiting for Teen Titans Go when, as part of some crap competition, they played a few bars from Last Christmas. It was all over before I could react.

Still totally worth it. It was the Teen Titan Go episode in which they spoof Star Trek.

Forgot to mention it, but there are some games I play to lose:

A couple nights ago-- Sunday, I think-- I put this on for over four and a half hours, from just after 1800 to when I finally fell over. Probably heard the original... six or seven times in that span,

I cheated a little bit, though. Earlier on this week they played part of it backwards in some contest and I did recognize it but quickly switched to another station.

I almost lost just now. My mother had a playlist going and it came on.
I didn't even notice until she pointed it out.
Fortunately it was just a cover.

I made it too! Almost didn't a second time last night, my mother watched a movie titled "Last Christmas" which not only had the original, but also several covers. My post food migraine nap saved me!
Happy Christmas everyone!
