Quick reality check: Not only was TLJ consistent with TFA, but Johnson's script was finished prior to TFA being completed and Abrams made changes to TFA to accommodate the TLJ script.
No, it wasn't. Daisy Ridley confirmed this in various interviews, like claiming that her character's parentage shifted because Abram's didn't know what he wanted to do with it.

Reality check: You claimed Johnson threw out Abrams' plan. If Abrams didn't have an answer, it's literally impossible for Johnson to have thrown it out.

Here's a good single source for this:

Before TFA was even released, Abrams gave an interview in 2015 stating that: "Rian has asked for a couple of things here and there that he needs for his story. He is an incredibly accomplished filmmaker and an incredibly strong writer. So the story he told took what we were doing and went in the direction that he felt was best but that is very much in line with what we were thinking as well."

Abrams also gives an interview in 2019 after TLJ is released stating that, "It was a complete unknown scenario. I had some gut instincts about where the story would have gone."

So before TFA even came out, they knew what VIII was going to be and they were making changes to TFA to coordinate with the story of VIII. And vice versa. That is the definition of a plan.

The 'disjunction' is what TLJ caused, you can see that when Solo bombed. The problem is that every sees that TLJ made money, so they assume that it was considered good.

Now you're talking about box office. How is the box office receipts of Solo supposed to demonstrate that TLJ threw out a plan which you claim never existed?

(Hint: It doesn't.)

To be clear: Literally nothing I've said here is a value judgment of the films. They are simply factual statements about how the films were made.

To be honest, the Star Wars movies are all entirely inconsistent with each other. I actually liked The Last Jedi for the most part, because it was the only movie that tried to take the IP into new directions - and some of the scenes were strikingly good, regardless. The Force Awakens was just a remake rather than being its own thing and The Rise of Skywalker was merely trying to juggle fan service in a way that was as satisfying as luke warm ice cream. Solo was ok but not really worth the effort and Rogue One at least brought some new characters into the mix. The prequels were all rubbish and the original trilogy were fine, but inevitably start to date after the fifteenth time of watching.

I’m looking forward to Dune.

As for the various armorments, these are already well modelled by Boba Fett's write-up in the sourcebook.
They’re described, but I couldn’t find any comparable weapons in the rulebook. I guess I could just “wing it” for things like poison darts and miniature flame thrower, but I was curious how others would wing it for those weapons.

Poison darts I'd give a STUN effect to, the targetting tripod I'd give a +1D to hit for ranged attacks. I'd have to look again to see if there are any specific flame rules to apply to the flamethrower.

Ok thread resurrection, purely based on me picking up a random Star Wars thread from earlier this year, rather than kicking off a new thread...

Query:

It has come to my attention that there is 'Star Wars Classic Adventures' (2016) -
It's D6 system (not D20/SAGA/ FFG), but I know WEG is well and truly out of the picture by 2016.
I presume it is fan-made, but not sure.

Does anyone know what Star Wars Classic Adventures is?

It's a fan-based re-edit of 1st ed WEG Star Wars main rulebook and assorted supplements. All credit is given to the original writers and artists (it's not a retro clone). I don't know if in there any changes from the orignal text, or whether things like the rules update are already applied, but it was very professional put together. It's from the same crew who did the Star War Reup.

Thanks, cool yeah I thought as much, but needd a quick sounding board.
I intend to appear all very hip and oracle-like to my group, so I wanted some clarification before showing them

I’m just going to resurrect this thread in case anyone is interested in D6. I’m going to be releasing the playtest for The D6+ Adventure Game before the end of the year. I posted the character origins chapter so folks could see how character creation looks. This will be a slimmed down playtest, probably under 30 pages. For a closer look head over to:
