OOC: game not abandoned, probably not gonna have my shit together 'til after Xmas. Thank you for your patience, and Merry Christmas (or whatever applies to you and yours0 to all...

I'm still game. Hope you're doing ok.

OOC: I've been fine, and thank you. Really, I was just waiting to see what Dumarest was doing before we knew he was injured. Then I was waiting to see if he would mend quickly. Sadly, it doesn't appear that he has. The gaming aspect of that is supremely unimportant, however, and I hope he recovers fully and in his own time. That is what matters, and I know you all agree. As to me, I just kind of let it drop off the radar, and I shouldn't have. So...

"Well, I guess we search for what gear we need gentlefolk, carefully!"
Sally leaves conversation to the others and looks to upgrade her weapon and armor if anything is available. She looks around. If she sees nothing, she will resort to talking to the shop owner and ask about a warhammer or broadax. She also looks for a knight's shield or target shield to replace her little buckler. She hasn't thought about any other supplies at this point.

ooc: she has a simple club and wants to stay with a one handed weapon that works with 8 dex. If they have a full set of armor better than leather, she'll get it. If not, she'll try for any individual pieces of armor such as a chest plate or helmet to boost her armor.
Midnight whispers "Don't drink the ale" to his fellow adventurers" He checks on Sally and the others as well. "Let me know if you need anything, since you'll be carrying a bit of anything we pick up for me, I don't mind making sure you get whatever is within my means."

The small mercantile is clean, though the pervading aroma is a combination of musty wood and sweat, the latter presumably from Hyprix, who pores glisteningly over his ledgers as if looking for a lost fortune. He is seemingly oblivious to the party's presence, lacking even the performative good nature of his brother, Pookas.
Hyprix's stock is varied. His assortment of weapons is small: a few swords, axes, a spear or two, several crossbows and self-bows, but nothing very heavy-weight. Hyprix has only a little armor: one suit of badly-dented plate, three leather jerkins, a half-way decent suit of scaleand about 6 steel caps. Beyond arms and armor, Hyprix's Supplies carries many good which would be useful in the day-to-day life of a famer, sailor, laborer or peasant. Some of these items, such as ropes, lanterns, rations, packs, etc. are on display [PCs may inquire as to the availability of any item]. Unlike the weapons and armor, these goods appear new and undamaged. There are no prices visible.

Rublehead picks a bigger from his nose and asks "Sir how much for the plate mail?"

"So Sally, got yer eye on something?" He looks over at Rublehead and sighs and shakes his head. "I hope someday he learns a bit of style and class, but I doubt it."

(ooc: had to look up the tables of what I could use, I have 8 dex which limits me to simple smashy stuff.)

Sally shrugs noncommittally. "I dunno fer sure. This club doesn't have much oomph. I'd love a warhammer. Or maybe even a heavy mace. But I don't see nuthin''. Any kind of armor heavier than this leather or a bigger shield would be nice, too. I guess that scale armor over there and a helmet would be helpful."

Sally hasn't thought beyond weapons and armor.

'Well, it's up to you, Sally, an ax might not be too bad, if you've got the strength, a short saber or short sword is fast, and I've seen big ol'bumbling sorts with those, sides they draw blood nicely, so I've seen." He says with a shrug. "Now armor? What do you like? Not a warrior here, so I don't know what is really the best, I just go by what seems easiest amongst you big folks to use." He smiles "But you've got some of my coins, you're welcome to spend, as I offered since they don't use twee gems I could carry that would be worth more. I figure you got about a third of my coin...300 mayhaps?"

OOC: I will be replying tomorrow, thank you for your patience and continued interest in this game. I greatly appreciate it, and will make every effort to be worthy of it.

Rublehead picks a bigger from his nose and asks "Sir how much for the plate mail?"

Hyprix looks up ditractedly, his face showing mild annoyance. However, he quickly notices the signet rings worn by the party, and his expresiion changes into one of contrived pleasantness. Smiling artificially, head cocked ever so slightly to one side, he is a dead ringer for Pookas.
"Ah, yes, that one. Well, seeing as you're friends of the Baron, I could let you have it for the special price of two thousand gold. Already battle-tested, as you can see, so you can rest assured it'll keep you safe."

"So Sally, got yer eye on something?" He looks over at Rublehead and sighs and shakes his head. "I hope someday he learns a bit of style and class, but I doubt it."

Sally hasn't thought beyond weapons and armor.

"Got yer eye on the scale, eh? Why, your taste in armor is as good as that of your friend", Hyprix says in a tone intended to be complimentary, but which comes off as patronizing. "Three hundred and fifty gold is all I'm asking." The off-putting smile intensifies.

OOC: among the small assortment of weapons are a broadaxe and a short sword, either of which should be suitable for Sally.

OOC: Zala and Bera are both already got all their equipment that they want for the moment.

Sally starts to get mad but pauses and starts to smile. Sure, the prices are insane. But she's not paying. Someone she doesn't like is paying. So what if it's overpriced. She hefts the broadaxe.

"That's such a bargain! I'll take this axe, too."

I whisper to Sally "Try and not spend my coin that way..." he adds. "I occasionally like nice things."

"A mere 275 gold," Hyprix leers at Sally. "Shall I add these items up and put them on the Baron's account, then? Do you have need of other provisions?"

As a lazy shit, I forgive you.
I had hoped Duma's absence was temporary but it's been a long time. I hope he's ok.

I'm sure we all do. Kinda miss him. But yeah, it can whack a game hard when a player is lost. So if we want to stop, cool, if we want to continue cool too. I was just curious.
I meant it in a general sense not this particular game. I'm always happy to go on. I'm still holding out hope for the Men's Adventure Game to come back to life.

I would be willing to jump back in, although I would need a little time to refresh myself on what has already occurred before continuing.

Rubblehead snaps put of his daydream muttering "Now what was I doing? I think we were just about to head out to a dungeon or cave to look for something but I got lost in thought thinking of an old friend of mine."

"Melancholy my fellow adventurer? I could write you a poem, full of dark emotions? Might help?" Midnight says. "Though could make it worse too, always a danger that." He says as he sits on his owl watching the others.

OOC: please bear with me if you can. Wife is out of town all week, so it's just the three-year-old and me. Thanks for understanding, look forward to resuming this ASAP.

Hehe I remember those days. No rush.

OOC: brief update, have not forgotten about this (again). Wife was out of town, today is my bday. Thx for your patience!

OOC: There has been a death in the family, I am house/child sitting through the weekend, will resume when time permits, hopefully next week. In other news, Flying Buffalo has the manuscript for the never-published level 2 of Darksmoke. They're in no hurry to publish it, apparently. But, at the rate I'm going, that might work out perfectly.

Thanks. It was my wife's sister's husband's mom. He's been married to my wife's sister for twenty years. I'm doing what I can for them.

Do what you can. We'll leave the light on for you!
