I'm building a bouncy to scale castle.....let's get soft landings, and gaming in a bouncy house together! Plus well use old methods for keeping out geese, hot oil, arbalests, and more (sure the outside wall is still STONE, I'm not foolish here.)

Hi, my handle is D-503, but you can call me D-503.

I mostly post intermittently on the RPG.net Other Media board but until COVID I also ran and played in a weekly tabletop group. Cthulhu, WFRP current edition, SWADE, among other things.

Potentially interesting factoid - I have run the full GPC. Look on my works ye mighty and despair.

When you go to click the notifications bell and accidentlly swtch from Dark Mode to Light Mode...

Welcome to the Pub. I will admit right now that I might not be able to resist putting the apostrophe in Maat when I type it out. Who doesn't like apostrophes though?

Hi. I am also new here. I am interested in play by post role playing. Does it actually work? Or have most people migrated over to roll20, Astral, Rollgate... and places like that? I know the paizo site has play by post in their forum... but I never stuck around to see if it was a functional setting for to roll play. Maybe it was intimidating, I don't know~

A short novel of adventure I wrote for sale if you have kindle~

What games are you interested in playing?

PbP works but it is different. For a lot of people it works because their lifestyle doesn't work well for games that require everyone to be around at the same time.
I find it works best if you are willing to give over a little bit of control over your character and possibly game to the other participants so things can move along. So the GM may interpret what you wrote a bit wrong and the outcome isn't exactly what you want. In person you just correct them and do it over. In PbP it slows things down even more so it helps if you just roll with it. Likewise a GM might have a player do something that maybe would have needed a roll or would have encountered a trap/speed bump. If they blow past it you might have to decide to just let them and shift the outcome of that change to somewhere else. If it was a trap and you would have taken X how damage maybe you add that to the next encounter. Maybe you ignore it all together. It just requires some flexibility

Hi, I'm Dan and recently signed up to this cool forum. I have been a gamer since I was a small child, progressing from toy soldiers to wargames. When I went to secondary school and signed up for the wargames club everyone was playing D&D (with fascinating non standard dice!) and that got me hooked. I have roleplayed ever since.

I am lucky to have a group of friends that I regularly play with and in the last 12 years my wife has joined in the fun. I mostly GM, on those occasions I do get to play I tend to make goodie goodie types. I have played a lot of Runequest, and love Glorantha. I went through a phase of being snobby about D&D but got over it when 3e arrived, and my group has played a fair amount of 5e. I also am a big fan of Tunnels & Trolls, and even helped edit the first 3 issues of Trollszine - a free zine for the game. I have played and read a lot of games, and enjoy board games and video games as well.

I work in social housing and currently work for a London Borough. I have 4 grandchildren and they have also been introduced to the delights of roleplay, with my delightful 9 year old granddaughter pronouncing 'kill them, kill them all!' once she had surveyed the field of battle in our first game.

I am glad to be here, thanks everyone for being so nice to me.

I've already said "welcome", I believe.
But now you're my Hero of the Week and a role model I should strive to emulate:grin:!
I'm halfway there on the first paragraph, but it's too early for grandchildren here. And I'm still to get the kids sustainably hooked:shade:.

I've got a 3 month old I intend to get hooked as soon as she can read (and maybe before!)

Hello. I am new here, but have posted on that bigger rpg site for almost two decades. :O

Now I am here.
There's a point in every gamers life when he realizes that he needs a better home for his witticisms and bon mots. Welcome, pull up a stool and I'll try to get the bar keeps attention.

Erm... what is a "poacher" in this context?
