The problem was, they glossed this over with a Yub Yub song. If you ask anyone about them, the cannibalism, or the fact that they're using Stormtrooper helmets for their drums won't be the thing that sticks with them. It will be that stupid Yub Yub song and the dancing along. And the fact that they looked so pitiful when the Empire was slaughtering them, so anything else is just AOK.
That Yub Yub song was still far superior to the stupid and stupidly unfitting pseudo-Andean panflute thing they replaced it with.

Replaced? Is this some monstrosity visited by the edits?

..... I don't want to talk about it.

You know, that was the real shame of the sequels for me.

They created two instatly compelling characters in Finn and Poe,the actors even had a great chemistry together, and they completely wasted them. I would have much rather have seen films about the adventures of the those two than the Kylo/Rei/Luke & Emp storyline.

So would most Star Wars fans...

So rewatching the Tartakovsky cartoon inspired me to give The Clone Wars computer animated series another try.

I had previously attempted the film but turned it off after a few minutes and got a few episodes into the first season but stalled as the animation just wasn't doing it for me and the first episode seemed hectic to no particular end.

Although there was an episode focusing on the grunt clones trapped in a depowered ship that I liked so...

This time I decided to just jump to the 6th season and found the animation hugely improved, beautiful even and the story arcs involving the clone Fives nearly exposing the Order 66 conspiracy and Yoda's Walkabout much more engaging. My wife is digging them and she isn't really a Star Wars fan.

Now we're jumping back a bit to watch the Ashoka betrayed arc. Did anyone else notice that the title of each episode in the arc is a Hitchcock reference? Sabotage, The Jedi Who Knew Too Much, To Catch a Jedi, The Wrong Jedi, haha.

Then we'll watch the final season and check out some of the earlier arcs that look promising, probably starting with the clone focused episodes.

Wish someone had told me to check out these later seasons rather than trying to slog through the uneven earlier seasons, which now that I'm drawn in I may end up doing to a degree.

But I'm not a completist so the arc structure helps me just catch highpoints. I know there are those who will say I'm missing out with this approach but I'm beyond the time when I'm willing to sit through filler episodes.

If anyone has a suggestion for the best entry point for Rebels let me know.

Oh, and looks like I'm just in time to finally get on The Clone Wars train as a new animated series based on The Bad Batch will begin streaming on May 4th.

With Rebels, just watch it. The seasons are quite short, so there isn't the same level of cruft that Clown Wars has. And there's only four of them, so a lot gets covered in the equivalent of two seasons of Clown Wars.

I'll give it a go but the first episode of Rebels didn't grab me and the series is 75 episodes...

It does get better/more serious after the first episode, but my interest petered out after around ep 8, it's still very much aimed at a very young audience

Its really worth persevering with. The Inquisitor is a really good character. And the fate of Master Luminara is genuinely dark and disturbing.

Plus a 20.minute episode isn't so tough. But if you skip anything, the first half of season 1 is about all that you can miss without missing out.
