I can't get through this video without a wave of melancholy overwhelming me, but I still go back to it...

This is one of the all the greatest covers ever recorded. No question about it.
 
The time I saw this band, I didn't know anything about them. They just happened to be opening for a band that I like. When they played this song, the part of the crowd that was familiar with them went fucking nuts. I didn't really get it at the time; I felt like, "Sure it's a good song, but it's not that good." However, over the years it's really grown on me.



I was never really that into the Beatles, but I can definitely relate to the bits about being raised in a religious household, and getting involved in the punk scene as a teenager, and ultimately finding the punk scene unfulfilling, and inheriting a significant portion of one's musical taste from one's big brother.
