Cool !!! - I backed Wickerpunk, so mine must be on its way !!!
You should have already received the email- if not, I'd check your dtrpg inbox for it. I had to check there as the email didn't come through for some reason.

Yes, I got mine yesterday. I haven't done more then a quick scroll through the PDF, as I have a self-imposed ban on reading new game books until my current job is done. Based on my scan, it looks light on mechanical crunch. I'm hoping that means it will serve as a good resource for running folk horror with any system.

My Wickerpunk pdf has shown up, so the book will not be too far behind

The author lives in Australia, but the printing was done in either the USA or UK, so I won't receive my hard copy for a few weeks - who knows with international shipping at present?

I will take a better look once the physical book is in my hand, but from a quick squizz of the pdf it looks pretty much what the author said it would be.
Some D&D 5E stats, but vast majority of the book looks like good content for any folk horror or grimdark setting.

Very quick turnaround with this project, it was only funded a few months ago.

I'm intending to use this with WFRP 4E next year!

Pretty! What is it?

It's a Warlock based campaign for 5e, heavily influenced by death metal with an orchestral soundtrack (which was a disappointment - I like it, but ... it's right there...)

It's a kingdom ruled by warlocks and includes a 10-act campaign with multiple endings, and has extensive rules for all aspects of warlocks.

I’ve just been from Lisbon Book Fair. These are my spoils. Those were specifically in Portuguese, but are available in English worldwide. Many, if not all of them, are roleplay related and more than a couple were inspired by Dolmenwood.

The hardback Harn supplements are great looking, but I would have preferred holepunched color card stock.

The cover art reminds me a lot of the artist for Artesia
It is. He is doing artwork for Chaosium.
He’s also thinking of doing the next version of Artesia RPG using the RuneQuest: Glorantha system, so it should be trivial to port to Mythras.

He’s got a kickass world, I’d love to see it done with a Book of Cults, Magic Book, etc.

Actually they just released a new book which sold out before I could snag it, so I'm just missing "Conan: Waves Stained Crimson" in physical book form.
Hmm.
Pro - No Sensitivity Consultant this time.
Pro - Jason Durall is Contributing Editor
Con - Jason Durall is only Contributing Editor
Con - The Approver is from Conan Properties, not one of the three Howard scholars they originally had tapped to do approvals. Don’t know if that’s due to Conan the Wanderer fallout or they were contracted for all the KS Titles and this is one not covered by the KS.

I wish he'd finish the comic - and get some of those early trades back into print

When I split with the wife I had to stick most of my 'junk' (wife's words not mine) in storage. A lot of it was garage tools and car/motorbike stuff. More still was computer stuff/bits/games/books.

Some of it was RPG/Board game material I'd gathered over the years. I didn't really set out to collect anything, just bought up what I thought was interesting at the time and cheap. I never had time to actually play it so the plan was to read it and move it on. I did have a great 'purge' which sliced the collection (by that time pretty big) down to half or thereabouts. Whatever was left went into lockup and after (finally) buying my own house a couple of months ago (after 6 years in rental) I thought I'd dig through the lockup and see what I had to keep, and what to sell/bin.

IMG-20210902-145256.jpg

When the stuff went into the lockup my plan had been to catalogue it all for selling at some point. Alas. time constraints meant I couldn't do that, it just went in a box and stacked up. I can't remember what was sold before and what was left so today was a real lucky dip. Grab one of dozens of boxes and see what's in it.

Over the next couple of hours I tried to arrange the stuff into neat (ish) sections on the shelves I built up ('Billy' from Ikea...) and sort the other stuff (paperbacks and games that need XP or an older PC at any rate to run) into other boxes to sell/charity shop.

Several things spring to mind.

1) Buying up multiple copies of the same game because they are cheap (at the time) means there isn't much variety on the shelf. Why did I buy so many copies? They were cheap and I like to hoard things plus when I use something it gets used a lot. Like, to destruction. My first Rules Cyclopedia was wrecked, the first Becmi books are pretty much destroyed and more tape than paper. DC Heroes? I went through a couple of those back in the day and Marvel Superheroes was lost in the 'leaking honey jar' incident. Come to think of it a Rules Cyclopedia died when my lunch (a banana) went uneaten for a week in the same bag. Eek. So, spares of the stuff I like to play, when they came up cheap, were snapped up.

2) I'm maybe half way through the boxes in the lockup. There's more stuff to go through.

3) Because of 2) I may need to buy more shelves. or a bigger house. Or sell, sell, sell. Not in any desperate need for money and I'll see what the final shelf groaning tally is before deciding what to cull.

We'll see.

The shelves after today look like this:

1.jpg

EDIT: 'Showering Products' are game notes, scenarios, hand drawn maps, character sheets etc etc. I can't find the oldest stuff, sadly. I was prolific when younger at writing new games, clones, TV show/Cartoon tie ins you name it. Then I'd offer them up to my group with a 'I need to play test this. It's this or nothing guys.' though to be fair I was the perpetual DM and required to run whatever they turned up with so it went both ways.

2.jpg

EDIT: That's a lot of core books of Mutants and Masterminds. Some got use but I can only assume I bought up so many because I was bored and they went cheap, like less than the cost of postage cheap in most cases. The books are very durable and despite my wanting to love the game, I just don't.

Edit: I loved XXVC. At some point I'll come across the box with everything in it. Sourcebooks, adventures, the lot. Loved the computer games too. That put me at odds with some people as they associate XXVC with the beginning of the end of TSR or something like that. I just liked the game.

A few things spring to mind.

1) DC Heroes. That's everything on that shelf. Modules, sourcebooks, core rules for 1-3e. First time I've seen it in one place for a loooong time. Think that's everything for Marvel Saga too. Had to buy multiples of each when it became clear that 'complete' box sets weren't... Our of all those Marvel Saga sets I think I have one complete set of cards.

2) Rolemaster/Merp, Spacemaster and Runequest make more of an appearance than I thought as I figured they'd all gone in the 'purge'.

3) Aside from original D&D that's all the versions from Holmes on. This may not survive the next purge. Recently bought 5e to get my son into RPGs but having second thoughts. The 3.5 books are clean, untouched, 'as new' from when I bought them and wrapped in bubble so can't see them getting used. 4e likewise unplayed and the starter box still sealed. Have probably half a dozen full sets of Becmi ranging from Good condition to 'keep for nostalgia purposes only, do not use. or open. Or touch without cotton gloves.'

4) Despite being put in sturdy cardboard boxes and stacked 2-3 high at most, some have shifted and there are casualties. Looking at you boxed BECMi sets  Everything smells a bit fusty and that will fade over the next week or so I know from experience.

5) I've been looking for 5.5 Tunnels and Trolls for ages. Turns out I have one.

6)There's nothing really rare or unusual on there so far. I always bought stuff I thought I'd play rather than going for things that might be worth saving to sell for a profit.

7) I found the three brooks I self printed and bound. The covers are a bit... ghetto... but they are very sturdy and have lasted far better than some books like, say, Stormbringer. A week into using that there were pages coming loose. A week or so later the cover was pretty much off. Rubbish.

8) I think that's all of the Tunnels and Trolls corgi books. A game I could never get the group into because of 'the silly names for stuff' and 'we only have half a dozen D6s, this is taking forever.' I have a few of the paperback pocket size Basic D&D somewhere. Must be in the second stack of boxes. Or third.

Edit: 9) Cheap. I don't think I mentioned that word quite enough in this write up, so I'll emphasise that most if not all of this stuff was bought from 2nd hand/charity shops/ebay/amazon before prices went stupid! Some of it was battered when I got hold of it, and ebay sellers were about 50/50 on their description accuracy/outright lies.

There'll probably be more observations and as I mentioned, there's another load of the same size (or bigger) to test the car's suspension/floorboard strength with. Some of the boxes have crap in so I think I'll cut the tape and concentrate on the RPGs next time. Technically this isn't new to me but I did forget I had this stuff for quite a while over the last 6 years.

I don't want to think about storage costs. I could sell all this stuff and only make a tiny dent in what it's cost to store. *sigh*.

J Jenx I need to finish reading your post but before I do I gotta comment on the term "went into the lockup". I keep imagining your stuff being sent to jail/prison everytime you said it. Lol

Edit: Now that I've finished. That's a decent amount of stuff after already purging! Personally I recommend keeping it unless you need money badly. I'll regret getting rid of my large collection of rpgs and miniatures that dated from 1978 to 1999 until the day I die.

Can confirm that you have all the Corgi T&T books. Including the main rulebook, there were 7. More were planned, but never published.

Keep it all. It'll just cost more when you buy it again later. Signed, a guy who knows.

The Showering Products RPG looks fun...

And, holy crap, you ever need to lighten your load of DC Heroes boxes let me know, I've been looking for one of those for a few years now....

Rebel Scum! I didn't get my email, found it though. Waiting on my print! Woot!

Right now I'm not looking to offload anything until I know exactly what I've got then there will be an inevitable pruning session. I know roughly what the going rate is for RPG stuff ( I stopped buying it up because I was saving for a house but never stopped checking out the prices) and its stupid, way inflated. When I had the last purge I literally made a loss by the time I'd packed stuff up, posted it and paid ebay fees. I'd rather keep it than go through that again. Had a mountain of Battletech stuff and Traveller that went for pennies basically because I had to make space. Even buying it cheap for a few quid if you are selling for less per book and throw postage/time/fuel/ebay fees in it will make you laugh/cry/wonder why you ever bothered, so I can't fall into that trap again!

The other thing is shipping. I have shipped to various parts of Europe, Australia and the US before. It costs a fortune if you are sending anything bigger than a BECMI Players Manual. I think you are in the UK Tristram (judging by your posts?) so it will probably cost something like (guessing) £6-7 to ship a box recorded these days, I'd have to check.

Huh. Just checked. Medium sized parcel second class signed for up to 2kg (it'll be in the 1-2 category I guess) £6.30 (up to 2kg, which after bubble wrap and a larger box to avoid any unfortunate 'posty football' shenanigans it probably won't be far off). First class over a tenner. It's fair to say prices have soared since I last sent stuff en masse.

Finally pricing. I have no idea right now on pricing anything but I'm not a gouger or looking to make a profit, just trying to recoup as much of the cost for buying so it's actually worth me doing it. The feeling I had after one particular trip to the post office and holding a wad of postage receipts figuring out what I'd just spent (I used to roughly guess postage costs from a chart/weight and said I'd cover it if it was more and over time lost out by quite a lot because I needed stuff gone) THEN getting an end of month WTF bill from Ebay made me realise that I'd been stupid about the whole process. I'd learned a lesson and it was an expensive one.

All that said I'll PM you when I know what I'm doing to see if you are still interested and we'll sort something out.

Whilst I know in one of the boxes in the (heh Gringnr :hehe: ) 'Lock up' has a few copies of the UK only printing of the all in one D&D Basic rules I wondered if there were any more out there.

Ebay doesn't list any.

I found one here:

That's some serious speculator type mark up going on in my opinion, but if the guy manages to sell at that price good luck to him!

As this is a 'something good you got recently' thread I'll wait and see what turns up after the order I just placed for the same book, to prove a point...more in a few days (or however 2nd Class UK post takes).

Semi-related to the subject of this thread. I've just been doing a bit of organising/housekeeping of my eRPG collection and then clicked on the folder properties:

WTF?!?!?!

I'm more than a little embarrassed to be honest... the only saving grace is that its electronic and that I've supported a lot of RPG writers!

The Sons of the Singularity KS package for Jourmal d'Indochine just arrived via DPD on my doorstep in the UK. I got two softback books, 2 posters and a very solid GM screen. If the scenarios are as good at the ones from The Sassoon Files I'll be very happy. Set in Vietnam between 1925 and the later 1950's it offers scenarios with French Foreign Legionnaires,, Viet Minh and OSS US and Canadian characters. It's packed with setting and historical information and nice illustrations. Not a huge number of maps but enough for the scenarios I think.

Don't worry. If it's anything like mine it contains lots of duplicates.

The ones I don't.

I have another 23GB of material I haven't deduped and/or filed.

Dude, I feel you with the gigs of game stuff.
19.0 GB (20,437,261,636 bytes), in those I've sorted into genres.

I just leave most of my game pdfs up on Drivethru and itch.io these days and download them to play and read.

My order of Alice is Missing arrived yesterday but was badly crushed in transit, already requested a return and mailed this back and got a notice the replacement has shipped.

Didn't realize the box was going to be so small, I actually really like these tiny box rpgs, Zombieworld and the Storybrewers Roleplaying do the same, more designers should do this.

My box of the TFT reissue is nice but absurdly large. Also a refreshing change from the big, nice looking hardcovers that are not super userfriendly at the table. And a nice way to crossover with the boardgame crowd I think.

I like having them there as a backup, but I also like having them in my library, "just in case". Even those, I have in several locations, just so I can have backups.

Rode my motorcycle up to one of the local game shops to see how they're doing and to snag a book or two to help support them. I'd snagged the Cyberpunk Red Beginners Box the last time I was there. This time I decided to snag the core book and GM Screen as well. I also noted they had a print version of Cyberpunk 2020 2nd edition, so in keeping with my slow and off and on trying to rebuild all I gave away in 2000 I decided to snag it.

Also the shop owner showed me some of the Old School Essentials books and I was quite taken with them. So I told them to order the whole set for me. Original DnD and AD&D should have been this well written and laid out. Probably take a couple months to get them in with how the logistics have been for a lot of projects recently.

Did you see the OGRE designers edition they did a while back? That brings new meaning to absurdly large

Yup, and the boxes that the TFT stuff came in were rather large from the Kickstarter as well and impressive in how they were packaged. This picture doesn't do justice to how large the TFT boxes are. I didn't back the Ogre Kickstarter but saw pictures, it looked huge too.TFT crop.jpg

Just got mine a couple of weeks ago and love them. Really nice books and layout, you definitely won't regret purchasing them.

Dude, I feel you with the gigs of game stuff.
19.0 GB (20,437,261,636 bytes), in those I've sorted into genres.

Exactly the same, mate. Great minds, and all that! Most of what I did yesterday was trying to order them into some kind of structure:

... etc.

Definitely feel better for doing it as there is now at least a little hope that I'll be able to use some of the stuff and consider what I'm actively going to use. To be honest, I'm more concerned with the shelves of books I have that I'll likely never read fully never mind run.

First world problems and all that.

I feel like I'm slacking when I read some of those numbers but then I recall I''ve been in a rebuilding mode since returning to the hobby a decade ago after leaving ten years prior to that and giving the gaming library away. Never, ever give the gaming library away. Here's my gaming pdf numbers on two year old tablet.

This is just my DTRPG stuff, synced using their tool. I haven't done any organization or anything on it yet, just a raw dump from the site. I'm sure I will trim it down quite a bit. My OneDrive, where I have been trying to keep my files in some kind of order, only has 126GB but that's from DTRPG, itch.io, HumbleBundle, direct downloads from publishers' shops, WeTransfer links from KSs (I hate when they fulfill that way) and so on. I decided to do the download from DTRPG's tool just out of curiosity.

I got Battlefield 1942,BF Vietnam, BF2, BF 2142 all to work on my PC. I am now fully 2006 operational!!

Bf3,4,1,5 are all on steam and working.
Wife (then girlfriend) and I were hugely into BF1942 in the early 2000s. Played a little ‘Nam and 2 as well. 2142 was the one that got away. How’d you manage?
These finally arrived after DTRPG resent these books that went lost in the mail the first time I ordered them. Great customer service.
