I snagged that too. I played a lot of the GW Judge Dredd game in the 80s, don't know how this will compare but it looked good. Judge Dredd is one of those games that made me realize generic rules are nice, but they can't do everything as well as a genre specific rules set.
I think it may depend on how much modification the generic rules have to make them fit. The GW game was essentially a heavily modified WFRP ruleset, but with enough changes to get away with it.

Picked up the full Worlds of 2000 AD bundle and really impressed with what I've read so far. (Although I'm a bit biased because one of the designers John "Doc" White is an old mate).

Really manages to get the feel of the world right and I think it should be possible to convert the old GW adventures without too much aggro.

It's worth mentioning that EN Publishing are losing the license, so this will be the last chance to get these. (I am a bit sad we're never going to see sourcebooks for Slaine or Nemesis now though).
Backed the Kickstarter, over all I thought it was well done. Too bad it didn't pick up the steam I think it deserved.

How much am I missing if I just get the base vs the expanded bundle?

Did not realize it borrowed from WFRP, but we are only talking about 40 years so... I also would not consider modifying WFRP as a generic system. It had changes to do Judge Dredd appropriate things which is quite different from using GURPS or HERO.

At the time we were playing a lot of BRP and HERO, so tended to convert stuff to them. That JD game made me realize, just because you can make it work, it doesn't make it the best choice. Probably a good 75% of settings the rules don't matter too much, but the other 25% it does matter.
I passed on the d20 JD game because it didn't seem like a good fit. I'm hoping this one is.

It depends what you're after. The base is easily enough to run campaigns. Most of the bonus (apart from the Luna 1 sourcebook which is nice but niche) is adventures.

And I think it was a mistake that the Dredd adventures focus so much on the big events in the comics timeline (Apocalypse War, Judge Child etc.) rather than everyday life in 2000 AD. So unless you want to play through those events the handful of extra rules isn't going to be worth it. Unless you're planning to have a heavy Cursed Earth element, in which case you probably do want that sourcebook.

If you're wanting a Dredd campaign I'd be tempted to pick up the core and try and get some of the Mongoose d20 supplements for background material. The latter mostly seems cheap on the secondary market.

Dude this looks cool! Thanks for the recommendation. I had no idea that Rogue Trooper was in the same universe, it is one of my favorite short stories in comic form. I am buying it all just for that alone (the other stuff looks great too though).

Are we thinking about the same Rogue Trooper? Because I've collected like four volumes of it.

I am referring to a comic that was in Heavy Metal around 1991 or 1992. I was 17 and ready to join the Marines LOL
I was thinking about the Rogue Trooper from 2000AD. Blue guy with talking equipment. Probably not the same.

There's another killer fiction collection up, this one an SF short fiction collection. which I bought immediately. For a second, I thought I owned some of these books, but it appears that titles to these sorts of collection experiences a lot of mimicry and reuse. The books I already owned were vintage 2008, these are more recent.

The PDF versions of the files lack "covers", which I find a little vexing. When browsing files, the cover images make for nice visual anchors.

For those of a more narrative bent the Bulldogs! quick deal looks very nice. I'm thinking I'll pick it up and then run it using the Stellar Adventures rules.

I actually have everything in that bundle (kickstarter, y'know), but at 8 USD, it's a pretty functional package of space opera goodies. The game itself and the aliens book are going to be most useful if you actually are playing Fate Core Bulldogs, but the adventure and port of call books should be ripe for plundering for any gonzo space opera setting like Bulldogs.

Anyone have comments on Victoriana?

Victoriana bundle

Not generally a fan of dice pools, but I'm always down for a good Victorian era and / or steam punk game. Thinking about getting this one but it would be nice to know a little more about it if anyone has experience.

I did two BoH Conan bundles in 2019, if I'm reading the email I received correctly then the Conan Careers bundle does not duplicate anything from the two bundles offered before.
That's correct -- all eight sourcebooks in Conan Careers are new to the Bundle of Holding. For those who purchased the December 2020 "Conan by Modiphius" offer from Humble Bundle (which, as I always have to say, doesn't own and isn't related to the Bundle of Holding), there's a breakdown of the contents of all these offers at the official Bundle of Holding blog, Beyond the Bundle.

There's a new bundle with most of Michael Shea's "Lazy DM" and associated books:

Most of the basic package are fairly generic and provide some good advice. The advanced collection has Fantastic Locations which is pretty generic, but it seems like most of the rest of the collection are written for D&D 5E.

I snagged it because I was curious. Also, never know, I might learn something. I've seen some of his YouTube videos and from the things he said I didn't hear anything that I didn't already know. Actually some of the things he said I thought were apparent, of course from some of the things said or posted in various places in the last few years that I've seen I guess they aren't apparent or old hat. lol

We tried playing it once, back when it was a new game. The campaign didn't go anywhere, but I remember we were planning to use some other system for it:shade:.

Etherscope is an OGL game based on d20 Modern, so presumably the reviewer had pre-existing opinions about the system.
That was the reason I didn't buy it when I flipped through it in a store years ago.

Isnt d20 Modern generally thought highly of? At least for the d20 3.x era?
"For the d20 era" is the keyword, I gather...:shade:

We almost played Etherscope when it was a new game. I don't remember which system we were planning to replace it with, but our resident GM had read it and decided it's got potential.

Then something happened and we started a different campaign instead:grin:!
