Wierd. Is this in the US? Because oddly enough the US has no official language so I don't think the federal government can force anyone to speak or read a specific language. Even in a workplace I think it's limited to how much you can force the use of English.
It's a NYC law dating back to 1933. It's technically a misdemeanor, but there is no specific penalty for violations. Whether its still in effect today I don't know, but it still existed before I moved in 2014

Hawaiian pizza has been one of my family's go-to foods for as long as I can remember, and I'm 44. I find it hilarious how it's somehow become super-contentious in the past few years. I like to add slices of jalapeno to it.

I actually do like it, but the coconut thing I mentioned upthread was a bit much IMO.

My wife and I had our 21st wedding anniversary today. We went on a picnic. I made prosciutto, fig jam, and brie grilled cheese and a fire roasted tomato and red pepper soup.

All of that sounds great but the fig jam sounds divine. Hard to get it around here unless you make your own. Fig preserves are a little easier!

In honor of the clean bill of health I received from my cardiologist Tuesday evening and my clean bill of health from my gastrointestinal surgeon and to honor you filthy dogs who don't like a good pizza... Hawaiian. I ordered a Hawaiian pizza and a Viking pizza from a local pizza maker. Plus a nice bottle of Zinfandel to go with it.

Hawaiian pizza is crazy good, but the Viking one is pushing it.

Whatever gets you there tho. Cheers! And congratulations on your clean bill of health.

It’s 2am here and I am considering having a yoghurt because protein. I have become that person.

Last time I traveled to Portugal (2015), one of the places we stayed at was this cute mom-and-pop B&B with the most amazing breakfast with fresh crusty bread, Serra da Estrela cheese and our choice of half a dozen homemade fruit preserves. And I would go to town on the Serra da Estrela with fig compote on crusty bread. Man, that was amazing.

Considering the complaints some have about ingredients on pizza, I'm guessing a visit to a pizzeria here in Sweden might be deadly. However, I'll say it would be a 50/50 chance that fatality would be from a heart attack or the head exploding.

Some examples of very common options
* Chicken, pineapple, banana, and curry.
* Fillet of beef, bearnaise sause, onion, mushroom, tomato
* Kebab pizza

Less common:
* Hamburger-pizza

Hehe, "that" person is who I am most days. Getting ready to go out and do my walk, then when I get back I'll have a Greek yogurt, a banana with some almond butter. Couple hours later I'll have a 12oz coffee with 4oz of Oatley and 8 grams of sugar. My only coffee for the day and pretty much my only added sugar for the day. I won't eat something along the lines of the pizza again nor the wine until next month.

Yup, I too have become that person. I also take half a dozen vitamins including a probiotic and two required medications these days. A statin and something for Barrett's. Other than that I'm doing pretty damn well so I definitely don't want to complain. Especially when I'll look around and I see what others have gone through or are going through. My heart always goes out towards others and I feel bad if I complain about my own issues,

Bouncing off the walls, restless, feel uncomfortable in my own skin. New med is the cause. UGH.
I’m sorry you’re feeling that way. Make sure you let your physician know you’re experiencing a reaction. A change of dosage or drug might be in order.
My apologies for the posting onslaught. I was bored and decided to Deadpool the front page. I'm good now, thanks for you patience and understanding. I may try again to sleep. Insomnia makes me do decidedly odd shit sometimes.
Fine with me, Deadpool away.

Brazil would like a word. Chicken with Catupiry (a local cream cheese) is pretty “basic” around these parts, but the more radical places might boast pizzas topped with French fries, or beef stroganoff, barbecue, or (in one particularly egregious example) sushi.

Barrett’s sucks. I’m sorry you have to deal with it and hope you’re feeling fine.

I’ve posted my diet at the physical fitness thread. But I gotta see my ND again because I’ve stepped up my training amd every time I do that I get crazy hungry.

And I don’t want to just randomly increase my calorie intake — though I am admittedly allowing myself a bit more of things I had previously banned from my diet (potatoes, white bread, chocolate, alcohol), albeit still sparingly.

I want to bulk up but I’m terrified of gaining fat and upsetting my glycemic control.

Sounds like Brazil and Sweden has a similar mentality when it comes to pizza.

I haven't heard of any pizzeria here having beef stroganoff (but it wouldn't stand out) or sushi, but I've heard that there are some places in Sweden that offers pizza with fermented herring (surströmming). While I generally don't care what others are having on their pizza, as I'm not going to eat it, that fermented herring stuff smells nasty enough so I would refuse to be in the same room.

Right there with you. I watched like 2 hours of optimal backpacking food videos with spreadsheets to think about protein and fat. Great videos though. The guy was a man after my own heart.

Trying to tell myself enough is enough at work and let go of some things. It’s been hard to do but been doing it.

Been doing a lot of bike repair. I am enjoying that. Just about done building a road bike from the ground up. Soothing, concrete, finite. All those things that make a good project.

After a good many years of struggling on and off, I’m mostly thinking the missus and I are calming down. It sure feels like we are not walking on eggshells as much for sure. A lot more honesty with ourselves and openness with each other. It’s been good

Send me that video!

Been on a similar kick re: work (trying not to overdo things) and hobbies (I have (re)discovered the joy of Legos with Baby Butcher and I swear whisky is a cheaper hobby).

And it’s great to know that you and Mrs. Raleel are working things out.

Start here

You can watch all of his videos but he has a particular way that I suspect many on here will find amusing and informative. He’s specifically going for backpacking stuff. If you are a person of a certain age who likes spreadsheets, bad puns, and where words like “caloric density” draws you, he’s your guy. He doesn’t have a huge number of videos, and this is the guy who would look at Rolemaster and say “I thought you said crunch”

Thanks. I am always looking for suggestions of portable, protein-forward snacks. It’s really tricky to get them where I work.

Whiskey may be cheaper but Legos resell for better. I think I could almost retire by selling all the old sets I have

Got that. Covering T The Butcher well with peanut butter and olive oil.
Well, I suppose we don't kink shame around here.
It appears that Nobby-W Nobby-W has reached the final stage of giving no fucks. The stage where you go to the beach in short-shorts and let your gut hang out and your back hair dance in the breeze.

I gave away the last of my fucks years ago. You probably shouldn't see the photos of me in the pool at the hotel here in Solo today.

My stepmother ordered asparagus on a pizza once, from some kind of fucking hipster pizza joint. I still haven't forgiven her. :argh:
I've seen broccoli on pizza, but other than spinach, tomato or eggplant, I don't do veggies on mine

Broccoli? That's really weird. Better than cauliflower, I suppose, but that isn't a high bar to clear.

Before COVID, I used to visit Kalamazoo, MI about every year for a conference. A local pizza/pasta place, Erbelli's, specialized in daring offerings, though looking at their online menu they seem to have lost some of the more unusual ones, like a Reuben calzone with sauerkraut and corned beef (which was quite good). One of their staples is the N.E.O. (New Erbelli Order) pizza:

Putting the tortellini on the pizza actually works well, though I was dubious before I tried it.

Kalamazoo is also the home of Bilbo's, a pizzeria dating back to the late 1960s-early 1970s Tolkien boom. It was originally located right off the campus of Western Michigan University, but moved to a bigger place a decade or so ago. It still uses Tolkien-inspired names for some of the sandwiches and pizza's (e.g. 'the choice of Master Sam').
There used to be a Bilbos in East Lansing. I think it closed some time in the 80's. I dont remember anymore.

Theres a great pizza placd a town over from me. My favorites are,

Marco Polo Alfredo Pizza

Rich Alfredo sauce covered in grilled chicken strips, fresh mushrooms, and topped off with Mozzarella and Romano cheeses

Louisiana Lightning

We swap pizza sauce for hot sauce and add chicken strips, jalapenos, and lotsa cheese and we serve it with ranch dressing

They have lots of awesome pies
