Best Selling RPGs - Available Now @ DriveThruRPG.com
Looks good, and very affordable. Don’t really enjoy d20 roll under though. But also has playable ducks. Gonna have to think on this.
Nice art print included if backing inside first X hours of that matters to you. Like before tomorrow deadline depending where you are.

Anybody here going for this one?

I was tempted, but the buy in for that one was too high for someone whose an unknown quantity to me. Had it been from a creator I know more about and have more faith in, then I might have pulled the trigger.

I backed Ruin Masters in part because of the art. I've never played it. I like the idea of a d20 Runequest like game because 5% seems like meaningful increments to break skills out into anyway. But a) the duck thing is really just so distracting even as cool as that duck drawing is for what it is. B) I doubt I'll ever play it.
I dunno still on the fence but these days I lean no by default.

As soon as I saw the title I was wondering if it was from C.L. Moore. Don't need another fantasy rpg but...
It's a setting to be played with either 5E or OSE, not another fantasy game. Didn´t you just get into OSE?

25 hours left and I still haven't decided...

I don't know about it either. There's something a little too "breathless" in their excited descriptions of stretch goals that makes me nervous (well, that with no track record that I know of).

Ah, damn...

But I was an OG for OSE!

Loved Dolmenwood since the Wormskin zine days. I'm no Baulderstone (who I believe helped edit B/XE and OSE) but I'm also a little proud that I helped Gavin a bit by looking up some encumbrance details for BECMI by referring to my copy of the Red Box back in the G+ days.

I emailed them about the campaign and my doubts (which is what I recommend if you have doubts about a campaign- the tone of the response really helps no matter the answer). In this case, the answer was enough to get me to back.

Q: How much of this is written, and what remains to be done? The OSE will be written first- when do you expect to have something digital ready to look at? Or is it all Jan 2023?

Hi Chuck!

These are great questions. This project has a lot of moving parts and we're being very ambitious with our scope.

The OSE writing is nearly done for Zaratos (still needs editing, minor playtesting feedback on some classes and monsters, and layout/art). It is about half done for WORLDBREAKER, but that's because there are SO MANY charts and table and the like. We have a large enough team to crank all the content out and polish it up on schedule at current pace.

We've been working during the campaign, as well, even before we were sure how much funding we would reach. Fret not!

The writing for both projects should be complete by October at current rate. Some of the 5E conversions will begin before then, but will continue in earnest at that point.

In retrospect, I personally didn't realize the lack of 5E demand or I'd have done OSE only for this project, but I'm sticking to my word and original plan and doing both. All combined, I think we have only around 45 backers who have some form of 5E content. And those will be exclusive to this campaign, as only PDF and POD will be offered for 5E moving forward unless demand increases.

The adventures are currently only emails, Discord discussions, and notes back and forth between myself and my writing team, as we were not sure about funding on Aug 1, but now we have a clearer idea of what our budget is. Those will be written over the coming months and released as soon as each is finished to backers, as well as again as a combined file at the very end for folks who didn't follow along as closely.

So, January 2023 should see the core 2 Zaratos books and core 4 Worldbreaker books, most if not all of the adventures, the 2 bestiaries, etc.

Before then, many the add-ons will be available sooner, some not until Jan 2023. The Memento Mori / Memnto Vivere OSE conversion will likely be spring 2023, but hopefully sooner!

Some things, like the miniatures, Dungeon Plumbers, and other add-ons will be available as early as Sep 2022.

You are welcome to reach out to me personally for updates, but I will also be posting progress updates to backers. As soon as the campaign ends, I'll be in machine-mode the next few months cranking this out and coordinating my team.

I don't have a traditional 9-5 weekday job, so I actually have a TON of time to devote to this. I'm a writer and editor, and I'm also a balloon artist and decorator. So, I work my own hours for writing/editing, and mostly weekends for events. This is part of my secret for being able to crank out content like MM/MV and Dungeon Plumbers on such tight deadlines! (shh, don't tell my industry friends and colleagues!)

As for digital stuff to look at... I hadn't really thought of a preview document, but I will be releasing content previews and progress updates. The PDFs will obviously be available before the print copies, so I expect those will be ready mid-December to early-January, but I don't have a hard timeline on that yet. It depends more on when the art assets are done than the writing, for the core books.

I hope that helps answer your questions, and if you have more drop me a line!

I also checked out his other project, and though it was a bit late, the communication seems to have been good and no flags from that.

Ugh I wish artists would stop copying Mike Mignola. It’s one thing to be inspired by a style, but to basically just copy it and make money off of it… it’s very sleazy to me.

If you like Kult, there's a KS for an art-book with art from all editions (including the CCG).

And maybe, as a stretch goal, a second book about the behind-the-scenes (or beyond the Veil) history of Kult.

None of these are strictly game material, but nice to have.

I've been buying less lately, but I'm grabbing that.

Hey all, just wanted to let peeps know that if you missed the Wulfwald RPG Kickstarter and are interested - details about what exactly Wulfwald is can be found here - you can still preorder it via the Lost Pages website.

I thought I'd let people know that was an option, because I never have enough spare cash to jump on most of the KS campaigns that grab my attention while they're actually live. Secondly, cos I don't think Wulfwald will be available in the box and with the Russ Nicholson cloth map again. Also, of course, because it's my setting, and I want as many people as possible to grab a box and play it.

...I am going to follow this KS just to see if it funds:thumbsup:.

I don't know this company but $39 for a pdf with no stretch goals is the cheapest option. The book is $88. That's beyond my range for known entities, far beyond curiosity spending. Two people have the highest level - I feel like their moms are funding their book.

Still debating it. I'm trying to get my wife to read some C.L. Moore stories to see if she is excited about the setting or not, but Black God's kiss (the book) just sits there on her nightstand. I like the look of the thing, however, and may cave on it anyway. The figurine looks way too big to use as a tabletop mini, I'm thinking, unless the Black God is Cthulhu-esque in stature. :ooh:

To be fair the $789 level does include a ton of minis, and terrain files for 3D printing. It's $120 for a 400 page book, pdf, screen, and dice, or $88 for the book and pdf which is a bit steep but not crazy. They are only going for $50k and its 5E so I'm guessing they will make it.

The 488-pages Call of Chtulhu 7e is $54,95, or $44,37 on Amazon at the moment.
Sorry, but I disagree with the "steep but not crazy" assessment, especially when it's coming from people I've never heard about:thumbsup:.

Now, if they still make it, which I can totally believe, it would say a lot about the financial resources of the 5e crowd...:shade:

Sure there are a ton of cheaper games but $80-90 for a gaming book isn't unheard of these days. It is about the same price as the book and pdf pledge for 5E Adventures in Oz kick starter (2 books total of 500 pages for $89).

They are also including a bunch of tech with the game. Voice actors, music and some kind of online gaming support. The inclusion of 3d printer files also adds that they are after a tech savvy player base.

I don't really follow 5E so don't know their history if any and I'm not interested in this, but I bet they have a target market (probably Critical Role watchers) that wants this stuff.

I ended up pulling the trigger this afternoon and went all in. ::rolls dice for saving throw:: :dice: ..... Rolls a one.
