Best Selling RPGs - Available Now @ DriveThruRPG.com
I found out that there's now a specialty shop in my area. It's selling hot sauces, and nothing else.
So I bought the hottest one. It's called Scovi-17...and I just found it on the shop's page. They actually have an English language page, so I can just paste you the link.

For those who want the short version, it's made by combining extracts of extra spicy chili sauces which should, collectively, come to 1,7x10^7 Scovilles.
The only ones who eat it now are me and First Daughter. Well, she uses is in very small quantities, but even I am seldom using that much. That thing deserves some respect:grin:!

In addition to this, I just found that Scovi-17 goes very well (in small doses) with armoured coffee. As a bonus, nobody else shall mistake your coffee and drink it accidentally...

Not twice anyway.

My oldest was always picking up any unattended drink and finishing it... can, bottle, glass, cup.. up and down. It took two things, but I finally broke him of it. (Now he asks).

The first was hard lemonade in which he discovered the solvent taste of alcohol.

The second was 3 oz of coffee in 9oz of Pepsi (which works better than Coke for a home production). He likes coffee (with chocolate milk in it), but I guess not Pepsi.

He looks at me funny now. Especially when I add vanilla coffee creamer (dairy or oat) to a diet coke. (Dirty Sodas, try them. There are even beverage bars that sell them.) I even leave it out. He thinks this is a trap for him to drink.

Well, the coughing gives the unfortunate victim up immediately...

Ah, so you're another roleplayer whose kids think that "Dad eats and drinks absolutely outrageous stuff"?

The internet tells me that armoured coffee is black coffee with mayonnaise. I don't want to believe this exists, but furries do, and that's conclusive evidence that god has abandoned us.

No, no, it's not:grin:! It's coffee with a mix of animal and plant butter (I use cocoa for the latter).
Well, that and Scovi-17, in my case...

Mayonnaise in coffee is why we won't survive as a species.
I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of this eating habit, having never seen it...but I totally believe in our continued survival as a species!

Coffee and Mayo sounds like something from 50's America when the entire cookbook industry went insane.
That being said I've vowed as a chef to try anything at least once, so if offered I would at least take a sip.

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, he thinks this is better.

AsenRG AsenRG, do you buy your coffee in loaf form?
What's your problem with armouring hot drinks, then:shock:? The Tibetans have been doing it for millennia!

As for the coffee...no, thanks, I think I get what you're implying and - hell no, I'll leave such experiments to you, since you suggested it:thumbsup:!

Would it help if I yell at you to get off my lawn and accuse you of finding your gender in a box of cereal?

Oh, so that is why I am a fruit loop?

Coffee plus butter is there for high energy high caffeine for heavy work/ exercise (or just surviving the cold). Most often it is called bullet proof coffee, hence where someone is getting armored coffee. (Oh and adding MCT/ like coconut oil to make it better).

Yak butter in tea is hardcore, mayonnaise in coffee is hipster nonsense. Birds of different feather IMO.
Well, I use cow and palm butter, for lack of milk-giving yaks* in the vicinity...

*Some rumours about some neighbours notwithstanding. Besides, those aren't really in the age when milk production would be an option:shade:!

I said pretend that we are not super old!
I'm pretending you're not super old, you whippersnapper! In my day we listened to our elders, 'cos if we didn't they give us a thick ear!
Turn on your hearing aids!
It's actually an over-the-ear bluetooth gaming headset. Git gud, scrub.

I cooked a childhood favourite again today, maybe one of the simplest dishes to make.

Baked Potatoes: Take 2 or 3 potatoes, wash the skins, peel if you want, slice into rough slices and fill a casserole dish or similar. Put 3 heaped teaspoons of Bisto Beef Gravy Granules with onions, 1 heaped teaspoon of Bisto Lamb Gravy Granules and 1 crumbled beef Oxo cube into a measuring jug. Gill with boiling water, stir, pour over the potatoes until they are covered, cover, put into an oven at 200C, 400G or Gas Mark 6 for an hour. Put potatoes onto a plate and spoon the jellified gravy over it.

Delicious.

In another thread, I totally just blamed home made cookies for me gaining measurable weight in the space of a single day. In their defence, they were delicious:thumbsup:!

The roommate fixed up a large batch of Kak'ik - basically a turkey soup with chili - that is really hitting the spot of a cool and somewhat damp day.

A few weeks ago Costco opened its first store in my country. A bit of a drive, but in the same city where I live. Spittingwife went to check it out with friends who have a membership. It was like a religious experience for her! Yesterday I used some of the pizza dough she brought home. It was like baking with silly putty, but the pizza was very good.

Having lived no more than 10 miles from, a Costco almost all of my life, I can endorse the dough. (For us around here, you can get it in some super markets.) It is a bit stretchy, sticky and odd in pre-cooked texture. Do not require it to be perfectly round (unless you are a pizzaollio), but a general roundish shape is easy enough. I will recommend a proper pizza stone to cook it on (with cornmeal down to make it easier to get it off the stone). (The second option is a silicon mat on a sheet pan. Cooks well, but less crisp on the bottom.)

We tend towards only paper products and long-term staples from Costco, but we venture into the meat department from time to time. Then anything else is a "oooh look at that" kind of purchase.

I also endorse the hot dogs and pizza slices if your Costco has those features.

Our Favorite Home Pizza Topping is a Cheeseburger Pizza. Classic pie with half the normal mozzarella (or white cheese used for it) and tomato pizza sauce. Ketchup (tomato) is spiraled on the red sauce. A few squirts of mustard (swirled and smudged into the sauce). Apply the half white cheese. Lightly browned ground beef crumbles are sprinkled heavily on pie. A very good amount of cheddar cheese. (Pickles chips and sweated onions optional) Cook normally - pretty much to brown crust and heat through.

Actually, our favorite one is Clam Pizza (white garlic alfredo like sauce, with garlic and whole and minced clams), but that is either a "love it or hate it" pizza. The kids both opted to hate it.

I made an Alfredo, mozzerella, cheddar, peppar, mushroom, olive pizza last Friday. The dough was store bought and kinda doughy.

That's a beautiful thing right there.
Yeah, I do love a good spice mix. The only ones off that that I haven't experimented with making from scratch are the Sichimi Togarashi and the Baharat, although I have experimented with Lebanese cuisine a fair bit here and there, I've gone the individual spice route for some reason.

I absolutely adore Ras El Hanout.

I'm always a big fan of Mediterranean mixes, Spiceology here in Spokane has a to die for blend. Stick it on a Foccacia bread and you have a truly incredible thing.
I used to use a Jerk Seasoning to give leftover soups a kick when I was working at a assisted living facility.

I had a ras al hanout sorbet one time and I literally saw God. It was so so good. Also, Giganotosaurus Giganotosaurus what’s the name of the blend and I’ll pick some up when I go up there sometime. I looooooooooove me those flavors. The upper left of that chart is my tongue.

I don't have regular access to a smoker, sadly, but I have found that adding whole allspice berries to the wood and charcoal really makes jerk chicken shine.
Oh the things I could do with a smoker. A retired coworker of my mother has a smoker and will routinely send my parents smoked salt. Because they're both on low salt diets I get the majority of it. I use it in tomato soup to make it nice and smokey.

I believe it's their Italian Crushed Seasoning although it's been a while since I've used it. Spiceology is great although they don''t have a proper in person store and instead only sell to a couple local outlets. They mainly ship in bulk for restaurants and apparently do so internationally.

Looking forward to having chili colorado when I go back to the PNW for Thanksgiving. None of the Mexican restaurants here have it, but it's pretty common out there, IME.

I just got back to doing fresh brewed coffee after years of using K-Cups (and drinking coffee shakes for the past two months). What a difference. I forgot what its like having that coffee smell and a whole pot instead of one single serve cup

I have been doing brewed coffee multiple days of the week for the last six months (since I got back after the event). I used to do VIA packets because of work or my lack of brain activity in the morning. So because I need to limit caffeine intake, I am making a 16ish oz point, for two or three cups. However, yes. It is so much better.

I saw a video that you might find useful. I like watching James Hoffmann's coffee videos because they are both informative and I just like listening to his soothing voice. (Plus he is a man with an opinion, but willing to listen to others to make sure he is right.)

The Best USA Grocery Store Coffee (which covers most Canadian brands)

The taste off is interesting, but the end which has his final recommendations is the part you might want. I am also local to Philz - initially a bay area chain, so I know where his recommendations come from. You can order the winner as whole bean. However, I tend to drink Veranda or Dunkins at home.
