My lacking of experience in the Bulgarian language is really hurting me here.
My best advice would be to use something like this.

Now when the MRH interview lands (the editor is working on it, last I checked), it might require me translating it back. "Undermonetized" has no direct translation:shade:.

You know it just occurred to me that this must be what happen with the OGL, it explains a lot about the writing.
It's just many things in US anymore, when you do it on the cheap, you get cheap. We contract out almost everything though it ends up being most of the time more costly and uses a short point of view approach to capitalism which really isn't wise or more profitable when you take a longer point of view approach.

When I was growing up, my father and grandfather used to talk about American quality and how well we built things. Fifty years later me is wiser to such talk based on repeated things I learn.

We build cheap, we also used to built fast but that doesn't appear to be the norm anymore. We tend to stretch it out to make more money while we build it cheaply. Does it matter that we're polluting our water table? Or that that impacts our children and our lives? Nope.

As soon as we learn something is bad for us instead of jumping up and passing legislation to prevent it, we allow corporations to push government to stall or do nothing. Cigarettes, sugar, lead, asbestos, forever chemicals etc etc.

Many of these thing have been known to be bad for humanity since before I was born and yet most are still around or in common use. we talk about heartbreaker rpgs, I like to think of this country as a heartbreaker country. Within the first ten years of my military service as I approached thirty I started saying to my wife of the time, "This country will break your heart". I've not changed my point view since then and everything I've experienced in the next thirty years just reinforced that.

lol Sorry, went off on a tangent that's only tangentially related to comment. I just often see how things interrelate and at times it pisses me off and can't help myself tilting at windmills.

Last night we started to actually play Cold Iron after having rolled characters two weeks ago. It's a slow start and mostly role playing (after spending some time to do spell memorization for the cleric), but we're playing! And the players seem to be interested in the system so that's cool.

Nah, an automatic translator would do better.

...can I persuade you to make an YouTube video on the system:shade:?

I mean, I just watched a local group playing Laser and Feelings, and I have a feeling your game might be more for me, system-wise:grin:! (Also, such videos usually help new players more than just giving them the ruleboo, and your game has a core mechanic which I find more unusual than ORE's).

A You Tube video would probably be unlikely, but maybe we could find a time we could do a Zoom or Google Meet call and I could walk you through stuff. Alternatively, come to my Cold Iron Blackmarsh thread and ask questions :-)

When I bring new players on, I just walk them through stuff as we go. The dice mechanic is the main thing, and is pretty easy to show. I've had several players between my one shot and last night grok it pretty quickly. You just need to make a jump from a d100 roll, to a string of d10 (0-9 rather than 1-10) rolls.. Players already know how to read a d10 as 0-9 (for d100) except d100 is odd, because you read the d10 as 0-9, but then you re-read 00 as 100... In Cold Iron, you leave the 00 as 00 (and roll two more dice because you need two digits past a string of leading 0s or a string of leading 9s).

For dice rollers, at least on play by post, I have players roll d1000-1 so we get the result in a single roll 98% of the time (rather than the 80% two dice don't roll 0x or 9x, requiring at least one more die). I need to point that out to folks for consideration using the Roll20 die roller. The only trick is you need to remember to add leading 0s if the roll is less than 100..

Last week I finished running the 5E Tomb of Horrors with my first D&D group. It got boring midway through so I went heavily off script near the end. I have thoughts about it, only a couple are positive, but I'll wait until later to write them up. We were also supposed to meet tonight for session 0 of our new campaign, but one of our players got a head cold so it's been postponed until next week.
Second D&D group met for the first time this year last Sunday as well and it was good to be back after a holiday hiatus, we'll be meeting again this Sunday baring alien abduction.
I've also been making moves towards starting a 3rd D&D group that I'd DM. I'm planning on running a smaller campaign with the Mega-Dungeon I'm making (You can see it in the Giganotosaurus Map Thread in the Resources forum) It's going to be a beginner group as it will be my first time seriously DMing and the first time playing any TTRPG for several of the players.

I'm trying to hype my players up for my Terminator RPG game, but they've just acquired a copy of the Avatar game and I think I lost that fight before I even slapped leather.

I'm working on the rules for my heartbreaker.

My Honor+Intrigue session went...well, if not swimmingly, then at least well enough for a session I was running from a canned adventure:thumbsup:!
The PC acted not quite heroically, but we sure had fun.

...sorry, man, but it's not just your players, I'd have made the same choice:grin:!

Running The Black Hack at the library went really well. Four of the six people who had registered showed up to play, and all of them seemed to really enjoy it. Of the various D&D flavors I've tried, The Black Hack is my favorite by far. So simple to run!

Supe My Ride 1: The Superjet
This week we start a new series on super powered vehicles for personal and team use. To kick things off we're going jet, be it invisible, quin or otherwise.

Pretty cool? Do tell.

The setting has a "Robin Hood versus Vampires" vibe where PCs have been driven by a personal tragedy to start an insurgency against vampire overlords.

Character creation and a couple scenes were more than enough to show me the system's potential. Character creation involved collaboration and discussion that ensured my wife and I were already invested in the game by the time we had finished (I know my wife is invested once she starts drawing her character).

The system has many elegant features that made me go "aha! that's neat" such as how gear works. The game deviates from the structure of more traditional games and some features will take some getting used to, such as flashbacks. In flashbacks, a PC suffers some stress in exchange for describing how they prepared for an unexpected obstacle in a heist or operation; the success or failure of this preparation is then resolved through a flashback scene. I am pretty sure that flashbacks are the kind of thing that detractors point to when claiming this style of game is badwrongfun without understanding why the mechanic exists in the first place.* Anyone who has played RPGs for a while has at some point endured tedious hours spent planning for every contingency on a daring heist, raid, or operation only to have the game screech to a halt once the party encounters something unexpected or fails a crucial row. Flashbacks allow the group to skip the hours of planning before a heist or operation, instead filling in the blanks as they come across unexpected problems. This is a great feature in a game that's focused like a laser on heists.

*They are akin to people who can't wrap their minds around GUMSHOE's method of handling investigations.

Yeah, I tend to bounce off of Gumshoe, Fate, and PbtA. I keep snagging them and reading through them but I just end up running my forehead into a low door frame every time.

I guess I'm going to have to get into a game of Gumshoe or PbTA at some point. Reading about always sounds fun. I snagged the hardcopy and pdf of Swords of the Serpentine recently. Once I'm done with my current reading I think I'll force myself to read it. It's very nice looking book with great art, nice colors, great font, so I should be knee deep into it.

Anyhow, appreciate the post and information.

I admit to having trouble fully understanding some games through reading alone and needed to learn though playing.
For me this is a first, but only those systems. Which irks the shit out of me. The first few times it happened I just thought it was me getting older (still could be that lol), but it only appears to be these system types. So maybe I'd always have had an issue with them had they been out years ago. Having someone run one and me as player I think might just be the ticket.

My Pathinder 2e version of Kingmaker, and the deluxe Companion, finally arrived.
I could not find a nice-cover version to order for the core book, may do if the original comes apart from its use.

Now I just need to get a group together.
Good luck with that, you Lanulosian basta…..

There's a Let's Read on RPGG of Swords of the Serpentine, and one of the authors is participating, adding flavor and reasoning behind the design. It's pretty good!

Thanks Chuckdee! I've bookmarked it for a read through. Getting ready to logoff, make some popcorn and watch a movie. With the wife in Hawaii having the place to myself is a nice change of pace. Taking full advantage of it.

Tomorrow I'm going through my reading room, building a few bookshelves, and starting to organize my gaming books because I can't stand it anymore. lol

I've given up running RPGs for my gaming group; I'm just sick of their lack of commitment. Not quitting but will be running 1-on-1 games instead and only for those that can commit - which effectively means not GMing for 2 out of 4 players. However... I'm running Night's Black Agents this weekend for one of them and then Beowulf the week after for another player - both 1 GM + 1 Players games. No having to herd cats and line people up.

I can totally understand that point of view.

Thanks mate. I've just gotten totally completely fed up with being the group GM + organising everyone + trying to keep us all happy. 2 of the 4 players are available and make a huge effort but for this month and Feb they simply couldn't get shared dates for being available so I just thought it best to go with 1-GM and 1-Player games for now and at least be able to run stuff for them, albeit separately. The other two... well, I'm afraid I've just going to let things slide with them. I just can't be arsed anymore trying to keep a gaming group together.

Three people are a group, as far as I'm concerned:thumbsup:.
Or two groups, as you seem to have decided.

I've found that you only need a GM and a player to keep the flame alive. Two swords-people, fighting back to back, shoulder to shoulder, facing each other.

Some of my best campaigns have been 1-1, with other players added later as they hear about what's been going on.

That's why I referred to "two groups", he seems to be running one-on-one two campaigns, one for each of the two remaining players:thumbsup:.

About events related to myself...

My one-shot of H+I went well. I am now planning to run another Saturday, hopefully for the same players. I liked the new guys.
BTW, I met two out of the five players last week for the first time, and I don't think we'd played with all of the old hands before.

One of the (hopefully) new players is a graduate in Sinology and new to RPGs, she's only been playing for a couple of months now. Given that, she's playing pretty well!
...So of course I just had to announce I'm running a game set in China, one day before the Lunar New Year, right:thumbsup:? I imagine it would be like a Star Wars setting-lawyer running Star Wars for someone who has a Master degree in Starwarsology. No way it could go wrong:grin:!
Still deciding on the system, but that's easy to resolve.
OTOH, I think I just found myself a game scenario...and one I can basically leave on the table without spoiling anyone's fun even by accidental peeking. It's in French, and I doubt anyone else can read it:angel:.

I've been considering a French game as well ("Les croniques de l'étrange") for the system, but it seems the system there is more involved than what I want to absorb right now.
OTOH, the scenario seems great. Or I might adapt one from the Bedrock Blog. We'll see.

Group is about to finish up our Deathwatch arc, having to fight our way through a Noble's spire chock to the brim with Genestealer cultists and a recently landed advance party of Tyranids. After that, our Price of Freedom game.

Also hoping to get some Cry Havoc or Aliens: Another Glorious Day in the Corps going at the nearest game store since we don't meet often enough to really give those games the love they need.

Ran my fourth session of my Savage Pathfinder campaign tonight. Two of my player’s have a very high toughness and it’s a real pain to actually damage them in combat. Though I did manage to get some good hits in tonight.

They are closing in on the gang leader responsible for kidnapping children all across the city. Next session should be the confrontation.

Just got back from spending a week with my wife & kids up at my parents place in Hervey Bay QLD, and I still have another week on holidays before I return to work.

It's my turn for GM duties next week, and I am currently trying to work out whether we embark upon Vaesen, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, or Numenera.
Ahhh, decisions, decisions, decisions...

How are you and the players enjoying Savage Pathfinder so far? Besides the two tanky characters. heh.
