I haven't decided what game to read through after I finish posting about Flashing Blades , so I'm posting a poll to see if anyone gives a :crap:. So here are some games I'm thinking about. Obviously I'll go ahead with whichever one I most feel like reading and writing about when the time comes, but if there's anything someone is really interested in learning about, that might be fun as well, especially if it's a game others aren't very familiar with. I also considered Justice Inc. and Lucha Libre Hero but you're only allowed so many options and I figured most of you are likely familiar with at least one edition of the Hero System. But feel free to enter write-in candidates. Pirates and Plunder, for instance!

(Really the read-throughs are for my own amusement but if someone else is amused that's a plus. :clown: I find it improves my understanding when I put my thoughts in writing and it's cool to be able to refer back to them.)

Pretty much anything but Gangbusters and that's just me being selfish. (I own Gangbustes but not any of the other games).

I don't own either of the Task Force Games games and you have about them. I'd like to know more about why you like them.

I went with The Adventures of Indiana Jones. I had a lot of fun with that game when it came out, and a lot of its bad reputation is completely unearned. The description on Wikipedia even includes complete lies about the mechanics.

Admittedly, it has been a loooong time since I played it, so it might not be as great as I remember, but it is definitely better than random falsehoods that get spread about it online.

I’ve heard good things about TSR Indiana Jones. Better than the WEG version I own, I’m sure.

I wondered if Dallas was some western RPG I missed, like some other company's "Boot Hill" rip off. I googled it. Man. . .I was FAR off. Are there other bizarre gems like this??

If we want to limit the field to TSR games, there is this.

It comes with hand puppets.

Honestly, we have so many odd games now that it doesn't seem as off-the-wall as it did in the '80s.

I almost got that once but had to return it because the puppets were missing from the box. Never got to play it.

Other games I would have put on the list if I had more room are The Price of Freedom, FASA Star Trek, Universe, and Space Opera.

Might do Dallas anyway at some point as it's only about 48 pages aggregate. And then I would have to bully you into playing it.
That should be part of the contract of your polling system. If you vote to make Dumarest read an RPG, you are legally bound to participate in playing said RPG.

I voted for multiples because it was allowed. I assume that he will read everything I picked, obviously.

I voted for James Bond. A close second is Indiana Jones, because I want to see if you can look up whether TSR actually trademarked the word "Nazi."

Oh, there'd be no arm twisting at all! In fact, you could even pull "It's all just a dream!" trope and you would be faithful to the material. Next we LARP Dynasty... :gunslinger:

Oh my, this is getting interesting. Last I checked James Bond 007 was ahead but Indiana Jones has managed to tie it up. I finished the Flashing Blades overview today so I'll probably start the next one fairly soon.
