I have the book (The BASH version) and it's a beauty but I don't have the group to play it. Anybody have experience with this?

I own the book (The Supers! Revised version). It looks like a fun setting to run but I haven't yet.

Dystopian how?

That back-cover text is pretty light on the details. So, what sets it apart from say, Aberrant or Rotted Capes?

Edit: Found the Kickstarter, but it's still pretty vague.

Looks to be a kind of near-future Cyberpunk/Conspiracy type of dystopia. Shadow Governments, Corporate Cabals, that sort of thing.

No. Not heard about it, what makes it so interesting?
I am extremely new to the superhero genre so I bought BASH Ultimate Edition and Extreme Earth (I also bough the new edition of Strike Force) at the same time. What made me pick Extreme Earth is that it is a more gritty realistic (can I say that) setting than typical 4-color settings and that it is customized for BASH (Though it is available for other superhero games too). I understand that most superhero settings can be tweaked for use with various superhero rule sets but since I have no experience I wanted to minimize my workload.

What sets the setting apart from many competitors is that technology has advanced slightly over the real earth (maybe 30 to 50 years ahead), superhero talents are explained for the most part as coming from a virus (as opposed to radioactive spiders and such), companies and governments in the setting are much more corrupt and despotic than in real life and many of the earth's resources have been used up (or nearly used up).

I think that is a fair assessment though I have only read half the book. I don't like the cyberpunk elements so I won't be playing with them (if I ever find a group that likes superheros). The thing that stands out in my mind of this book is that it is dark. The world they portray is a lot like our own but with a extra helping of corruption and despotic government behavior. It also has beautiful art. Easily the prettiest book I own!
