Cepheus Engine 2300AD

I have wanted to run 2300AD for years but have never gotten the chance. With Warhammer 2E wrapping up next week, I'm going to start 2300AD (it narrowly beat our Hostile as the next RPG to run).

Rather than use the original GDW rules I think I'm going to use Cepheus Engine and a combination of the original books on CD ROM(!) and the newer 2300AD books from Mongoose. I like that Cepheus Engine has a free doc with cybernetics which goes well with Core Earth.

Anyone encountered any surprises using Cepheus Engine for example a rule that varies quite a bit from Traveller? Or is it basically the same rules? 2300AD from Mongoose reference Mongoose Traveller 1E in places.

I wouldn't expect many issues, to be honest.

The Mongoose 2300 AD are a modified form of Mongoose Traveller 1E just as Cepheus is a modified form of Mongoose Traveller 1E. I don't see any issues in adapting any of the Mongoose 2300AD to Cepheus.

Also in the State of Mongoose they will be coming out with a version of 2300AD that based on Mongoose Traveller 2nd edition.

However given the similarity of 1E go 2E do what you need to do for an upcoming campaign.

I have been waiting on that for months and months now. Don't want to wait any longer!
