PCs get to add from 0% to 25% to their scores based on the Initial Modification table on page 5; the percentage you get to add is related to how poorly or how well you rolled to start with; the result is that all PCs are at least average. The reason for the separate table is that the referee can use the same tables to generate NPCs but doesn't use the Initial Modification table for them so they have a wider range of attributes.But I caught up...
So, what do I do with the above stats? Do I turn the Speed, G.A. and Bravery into 68, 77 and 78, respectively, given the number I'm supposedly adding based on the table on p5? Am I then recalculating whether that means a different rank (it does)?
I'm starting to see what people mean by saying that old rulesets weren't exactly clearly explained!
If a PC survives a gunfight, he also gets a chance to increase his Speed and Bravery scores in addition to his Experience score.
