WWE has Monday Night RAW, which is 2.25 hours without commercials, Smackdown Live which is 1.5 hours without commercials (rumored to go up to 2.25 hours in October), 205 Live which is one hour, NXT UK which is one hour, and NXT which is one hour. Then there is at least one monthly pay-per-view which is a minimum of three hours but is more likely to be five hours. Not to mention the Mae Young Classic tournament every year, which is an additional hour per week for a month.

Today, WWE announced a new weekly show called Worlds Collide, where the wrestlers from all of the other shows face each other. Lord only knows how long each episode will be.

It is getting to be a bit much.

Worlds Collide was filmed at Axxess Wrestlemania weekend. According to Wikipedia, it's 4 episodes. It's simply a tournament like they did back in March, but including Raw & Smackdown stars alongside 205 Live, NXT and NXT UK (who were part of the first one)

Good to know, thanks. The e-mail message from WWE just said, "New épisodes every Wednesday."

I remember reading about it on one of the wrestling news sites. I don't follow as closely as I used to, but I tend to watch the big shows. I haven't seen Takeover or Wrestemania yet, as I'm watching other shows from that weekend. I just started the NJPW/RoH show. Makes me sad I don't live in NYC anymore, as I would have gone to a few of the shows I watched (like DDT and Stardom from Japan). I probably would have gone to NJPW, because I'm a big Liger fan and it's one of his last matches (since he's retiring this year). I met him twice at Indie shows in NJ before, and he's such a nice guy. His feud with Brian Pillman in WCW was one of my favorites of that era

No not about Tonya Harding at all. A depressing story about child murder in the south with crappy parenting thrown in for added fun.

Oh you mean Sharp Objects, based on the novel by Gillian Flynn. I rather liked that one, good atmosphere and a spectacularly fucked up protagonist well played by the great Amy Adams. But it is definitely superdark and not for everyone.

Though I'm a big fan of the Marvel movies, most of the DC movies have fallen fairly flat for me, making them good for renting when I'm not feeling like doing much else, and it was that sort of weekend. Yesterday, JUSTICE LEAGUE: just so-so, not terrible, not great. Tonight, AQUAMAN. Really pleasantly surprised, might be my favorite DC yet (though the bar hasn't been very high). I really liked how it mixed all sorts of myth, fantasy, and scifi, from Atlantis, to King Arthur, to Jules Verne. It was over the top, but in a good way, reminding me of Marvel's THOR movies (especially RAGNAROK). Recommended.

That's the one. The acting was fine there just wasn't anyone I wanted to see saved or be the hero. Mostly it seemed to hang on my general desire not to see a child killed. Well I had a much simpler solution than watch 6-8 hours of asshats be asshats. Watch something else and then no kids would die.

Watched the tail end of the great movie The Last Days of Disco since a TV channel was playing it while I was folding clothes. Now I'm going to have to re-read The Last Days of Disco with Cocktails at Petrossian Afterwards, one of the few books I have in first edition, although in this case it's probably the only edition. The novel is from the perspective of the Jimmy Steinway character and has a final chapter wherein he attends the movie of his book, and then an epilogue. Good stuff.

Watching the supertrashy and psychotronic Lady Streetfighter that played recently on TCM Underground. Not to be confused with the Sister Street Fighter film that is a quite fun spin-off from the Sonmy Chiba classic.

This film stars the infamous Renee Harmon who often was also the writer and producer of her films. She has developed a cult following among trash film fans for her inadvertently surreal films and performances.

This particular film is an attempt at a martial arts thriller as made by aliens with no understanding of human behaviour or film editing techniques. A mind-blowing classic if you're a fan of trash.

Two disappointments in a row.

GoT s08e01 - lukewarm bs with a hefty side order of fan service.

The Umbrella Academy s01e10 - I loved this series — pretty much the “Wes Anderson’s X-Men” satire brought to life and made to work, and now I want to read the comics — and yet the finale felt like a huge, inexcusable cop-out. Also how is she transmitting mechanical energy across the void of space? Science nerd ANGRY.

I actually prefer the TV show. Hazel and Cha-Cha were IMO far better on the show. Also, the villain of the comic didn't work for me at all.

WrestleMania was 7.5 hours last night, and ended about ten minutes early because one of the wrestlers in the main event shattered her hand. WWE really needs to shorten it.

A friend of mine drove in from another state to watch it with us, and we watched NXT Takeover right before it. So about 10 hours straight? I like this crap... but come on. :clown:

Currently watching Mid-South Wrestling's latest network drop. And in more mainstream thing, my wife and I are watching Supernatural season 9 and season 2 of Home Improvement. By myself, I'm also tackling season 6 of American Horror Story.

I haven't seen Takeover or Wrestlemania yet. I've been watching a bunch of other shows from that weekend. I did watch the NJPW/RoH G1 Supercard at the Garden. Mostly great show, ruined by RoH doing some dumb stuff (bringing back Angelina Love & Velvet Skye, and having Enzo and Cass jump the rail to attack the Briscoes, while commentary acted like nothing happened. Also, not telling NJPW, so the GoD, who just won, are looking at the out of ring brawl with a wtf look on their faces). But NJPW/RoH sold out MSG. That's huge. Plus the crowd was awesome for almost the entire event.

Besides that, still catching up on the Magnum PI reboot. I'm enjoying it

Watched Cockneys vs Zombies the other day, about a zombie outbreak in the East End of London. It's a horror comedy, as part of the cast are retirees in a retirement home. The outbreak in this is limited, and has an interesting origin:

A construction crew finds what appears to be a crypt/vault, and says "Sealed by order of King James II". Thinking there is treasure inside, two workers break it open, get bit by some zombies who look almost like skeletons, and it escalates from there.

Fun little movie, and one of the stars is Michelle Ryan (star of the Bionic Woman remake and a guest star in one of the Tennant Doctor Who specials). It's streaming on Prime Video, but if you don't have it, it is free (with some ads) on Tubitv

The funniest part, for me, was the shuffling zombies vs shuffling pensioners race in the garden.

Just started Black Summer, Netflix's new zombie apocalypse show. I'm a third of the way in on the first episode. Looks ok so far

Watched the first episode of The Doom Patrol and it was pretty good. Nice characterization throughout with an appropriately grotesque team. It has been a long time since I read some of the Morrison Doom Patrol but this captures the humour, both clever and stupid and adult content of those comics well so far.

Comin up on the last episode of Znation season 4 and....this season has been a bit too different. I'm not liking the sidelining of certain characters without good reason. Warren has lost her edge with all the weird visions and many episodes just had no real edge to them. Some were just plain weird - and not in a good way. The clown posse one was very weak as was the one with the underground facility that had no explanation. The season has lacked its sardonic fun edge a bit.

Maybe. I still enjoyed it, though.

It went a bit downhill when Murphy realised he could make people immune to zombies by biting them and controlling them.

Warren's visions got a bit tiresome after a while.

Watched Big Jake again. Never fails to entertain me

Currently watching "Quarry" a Cinemax series from a few years ago. It concerns a Vietnam vet turned Hitman. Two episodes in, very good so far. Based on a series of novels, if I am not mistaken.

I just mentioned Quarry over in the Movie Recommendation thread.

It is based on a book series and I was quite taken with it. Slow paced but full of atmosphere, character and tension. Great cast too. It is a hidden gem too bad it got cancelled.

GoT.

S08 E02 was a wonderful character-driven episode - the 'calm before the storm' on the eve of battle. Some funny and also very touching moments - Jaime knighting Brienne being especially cool. And holy shit they are not hanging around - lots of plot points covered and looks like it's gonna kick off big time next week

Yeah, I think I'm done. They had 3 good seaons and then it went to shit. A bit like the zompocalypse in general. A real shame, i loved the gonzo road trip vibe. But that went out the window and actors leaving the show didn't help. Sad times, I really enjoyed Doc; such a fun character

After a few days away, spent the night playing catch-up with GoT s08e02 (more yadda yadda) and Star Trek: Discovery's s02 finale (good job of tying loose ends but what the fuck are they doing in s03?).

It's been confirmed: They're going into the 31st Century and leaving the 23rd Century behind. One of the Short Treks was a huge hint. Discovery is having its cake and eating it too. A prequel is turning into a legitimate sequel.

Oh, I see... didn’t catch the Short Treks. Will look into them. But yeah, I suppose that’s about the only thing that’d make sense.

That's very cool. And I say that as one of the people who loves Discovery and the way it pisses off 'real' Trekkers.
Also, loved the way Georgiou giggled like a schoolgirl as Leland was screaming in his dying agonies.

Michelle Yeoh certainly is one of the series’ highlights.

Wasn't it Shaggy? If he did Fred too, there's no end to his talents, US Top 40 and both Fred and Shaggy, is there nothing he couldn't do?

I thought it was Fred but this was mid to early 80s , so my memory isn't the most reliable on that. I know he did the voice for Ken on Battle of the Planets as well.

Honestly, my only clear memory of Scooby Doo is the episodes where Batman an Robin showed up (voiced by Adam West and Burt Ward), everything else has slipped away into a mash of disconnected images
