Games you failed your saving throw against

Truthfully... I don't regret my choices. Probably because I convince myself that I can get use out of everything I buy. And so far I have. But if there's one system I don't care for, it's FATE. Or maybe anything with a 'Doom' pool other economy mechanic that pits Players vs. GM. Every game...

Is it okay if player characters never die?

That's very true. I always love to retell that story of that one time I nut-shot Godzilla in the Savage Rifts game with a single Glitter Boy round. I can't even say it went in one end and out the other. There was nothing left of his nether regions, his tail and about 50mi of forest behind...

Is it okay if player characters never die?

Except that in Pulp stories, which Savage World's tries to emulate, the Heroes don't really die. The Bad Guys do, yes, but not the heroes outside of major arcs, that either end the book or are part of the hero team, so it's used for pathos and drama.

Is it okay if player characters never die?

A lot of players seem to think Death is just another form of Failure in a game. It's not. It's the end of that particular game for you. If you make a new game piece and put it back on the table, it's still not the same as the old one. That one is not going to 'learn' or level anymore. It's...

The Greatest Toy Line Ever Made: G.I.JOE!!!

We used to have one in my city. Sadly, it closed down a decade or so ago. Internal issues, from what I remember.

Are many fantasy gamers irrational about guns in settings?

I'm here with it. A lot of Fantasy settings don't have the infrastructure to have firearms appear regularly. Warhammer is one of the few who does it.

Mod+ How does religion make sense in a D&D-like setting?

"It's better to rule in hell, than serve in heaven."

Are many fantasy gamers irrational about guns in settings?

Your conflating prosperity with progression. Not the same thing. HOWEVER, the fact that India had open its borders meant it did have both.

Mod+ How does religion make sense in a D&D-like setting?

I think the term is more 'Agnosticism', or maybe more 'I don't mess with The Gods, maybe They won't mess with me.' as a sort of retaliatory belief.

Are many fantasy gamers irrational about guns in settings?

Japan did when they went isolationist, as an example.

Mod+ How does religion make sense in a D&D-like setting?

Here's the rub, even if this is true (Which it is in a lot of D&D settings), the average person is STILL going to worship a god so THEY CAN ENTER TOO! The fact that the rewards for proper worship are known and attainable would make it MORE likely to get followers.

Are many fantasy gamers irrational about guns in settings?

First powered airship in the world: 1852. It took MORE than just 70 years. Humans had been trying to make flying vehicles since the 1400s. As other people pointed out, society changed drastically when the Gonne was first introduced. It became a lot more urbanized for one thing.

Are many fantasy gamers irrational about guns in settings?

Yes. And a lot of fantasy gaming, especially American stuff, uses Hollywood as a basis for a LOT of it's ideas.
