    Fallout: The Series

https://beforewegoblog.com/series-review-fallout-the-series-season-one/ Review *plays Atom Bomb by The Five Stars* I love Fallout to an unhealthy degree. Seriously, I had a Fallout wallet for years. My wife got me a Fallout themed Xbox as a birthday present. I've loved Fallout since Fallout...

Mod+ How does religion make sense in a D&D-like setting?

Again, I think part of the problem is that plenty of people in the world believe there is objective evidence for gods. They believe in miracles. Not as a, "We have faith in them." They're like, "Yeah, Dude got healed because he prayed for it." The people who are skeptical are only assumed to...

[WTA5] Ten Tips to using Hauglosk in your games

https://unitedfederationofcharles.blogspot.com/2024/03/ten-tips-for-using-hauglosk-in-w5.html One of the more controversial elements of Werewolf: The Apocalypse 5th Edition is the introduction of the condition of Hauglosk. Hauglosk is effectively the opposite of Harano. While a Garou suffering...

Updating GI Joe's "setting" to 2024

I've decided to go full gonzo with it. GI JOE: TIME FORCE The premise is the year 2024 on planet Earth. Also, the premise is the year 2024 on planet Cobra Center. Also-also, the premise is the year 1989 on planet Earth. In Timeline-A, the Cobra Wars were fought between GI Joe and the forces...

Updating GI Joe's "setting" to 2024

One thing I'm considering for the game is for each player to create a Joe and a Cobra character both. The stories would then have the player characters working at cross purposes against themselves and give a larger view of each activity.

Updating GI Joe's "setting" to 2024

No, it's not a bad idea at all and is definitely fodder for ideas. The idea of some "Eighties Joes" showing up and experiencing culture shock is actually a fun premise.

Updating GI Joe's "setting" to 2024

He'll fight for freedom! Wherever there's trouble G.I. Joe is there! G.I. Joe (A Real American Hero) G.I. Joe is there! My players have been persuaded to let me run them Renegade Studio's GI Joe game. The thing is that we're all a bunch of nerds in our forties now and have a lot more focus on...

Mod+ How does religion make sense in a D&D-like setting?

You have successfully described how most of human history viewed the world and how a substantial chunk of humanity still does. The idea the gods are not objectively real and require faith because they are hidden is a perspective basically adopted by people trying to understand religion from the...

(D&D) Would you bail if the DM says, "This setting replaces wizards and clerics with psions."

Yeah, it was John and I feel dumb for posting that. Many deaths must be plotted and payoffs made to cover up my mistake. *contacts Clan Ventrue for the cover up*

(D&D) Would you bail if the DM says, "This setting replaces wizards and clerics with psions."

Yeah but psychic powers AS WE KNOW THEM were propagated by Joseph Campbell who thought they were absolutely real and tried to forward them as a scientific principle via science fiction.

(D&D) Would you bail if the DM says, "This setting replaces wizards and clerics with psions."

Yes. You'll take my gods from my cold dead hands. *swings mace*

Vampire: The Masquerade - The Early Years and Personal Horror

I understand. I was just indicating that this was the days before the big companies got involved and thus there was a lot more willing cross pollination among creators.

Vampire: The Masquerade - The Early Years and Personal Horror

There's a reason that Gothic Punk is so similar to cyberpunk. :)

Vampire: The Masquerade - The Early Years and Personal Horror

A note that it is actually impossible to copyright game rules before the United States Supreme Court. One of the things Hasbro found out was that, in fact, the OGL license was unnecessary for D&D as rules. But as for its similarity to Shadowrun....err, you do realize that V:TM was developed by...

Vampire: The Masquerade - The Early Years and Personal Horror

The funny thing about REVISED, which I assume Justin Achilli contributed a lot of the attitude to is it turned up its nose at 2nd Edition's "wackiness" and then did things every bit as ridiculous. The Black Hand? UTTER TRASH! So what do you do? NUKE IT WITH A BOMB IN THE UNDERWORLD! Oh and one...
