Do you dig the late 19th Century in RPG adventure?

I’ve been running a campaign of a French role-playing game set in 1900s Paris [https://rpggeek.com/rpg/78144/malefices-4eme-edition] since February, and honestly I think it’s one of the best campaigns I’ve ever run.

Tell us about something good that you got recently

Purchased the PDF version of this. Currently reading the rules and they are really adapted to the spirit of the franchise. Good stuff!

    What are you watching?

I've read the books and the first one is also more interesting than the second one (haven't read the 3rd one yet).

Fantasy region maps with elevation notations?

and the Argan Argar Atlas is free on DTRPG

    Resources for Historical Campaigns

This has always fascinated me. In Imperial China, people would wear all sorts of hats or at least keep their hair in a knot and it was the epitome of faux pas to show one's hair. (which is also why the Chinese resented the imposition of the pigtail by the Manchus so much)

    Samurai RPG's (that aren't L5R)

I call it ‘verisimilitude vs realism’.

    Samurai RPG's (that aren't L5R)

There's a small supplement to use Revolution D100 in the Sengoku period.

    Favorite RPG Monster

Yup. Super versatile, and you can use them in pretty much any genre: classic fantasy, historical, horror, sci-fi, urban fantasy...
  9. GianniVacca

What obsession do you include in almost all of the games you run?

Strict language rules. None of that “common” bullѕhіt thank you very much.

    Favorite RPG Monster

My favourite “monsters” are Gloranthan trolls because it’s incredible how Greg Stafford and Sandy Petersen managed to create a believable nonhuman culture out of these brutish creatures.

What obsession of yours has never made it into your games?

Oh, I use this all the time. The players would tell me “OK we ask the guy...” and I’d answer “You don’t speak his language and he doesn’t speak yours”.

    Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse reviews/reactions

For Gloranthan fans only: There’s a part when Miguel O’Hara shows the tragedies of Spider-Man’s life/lives as being interconnected via an actual spider’s web. Did you have that “Arachne Solara!!!” moment?

    I'm Not that into Mythras

    I'd play both!!!

    Banned from RPG.net

I have been banned from RPG.net for a ludicrous reason (read for yourselves: http://mergezett.blogspot.com/2023/05/permanently-banned-from-big-purple.html)... Has anybody else experienced that?

Lair of the Leopard Empresses and Monsters! Monsters!

Alas I've merely provided some feeback. All the good stuff is Sarah's.
