    That works for me.

Scum and Villainy out-of-character (OOC) thread.

I'll work out the XP part as soon as I reread that section. During some downtime on a bland planet, Steevo went to a seminar on the mystical aspects of hyperspace that tried to draw parallels between otherworldly powers and multidimensional space. Ida was there and they got to talking...

    AD&D Second Edition

For every edition, the dmg has been my least used core book. There's usually a few ideas but it's mostly for the occasional use of treasure tables and magic items.

    AD&D Second Edition

Oh yea, one of the handbooks (Ninja?) had a system for making up martials arts schools with available moves plus how much it affected offense and defense. I'd love to see something like that expanded.

    AD&D Second Edition

I dunno. I've played on Roll20 a fair amount and never bothered with any of the special assets such as character sheets with code. We just used it as a shared visual space where we could move around tokens and have a chat log and dice roller. In that respect, it supports all games equally. I...

    AD&D Second Edition

Based on the little hard data I see, from online stats of Fantasy Grounds and Roll20, 1e and 2e together are less popular than 4e, which is far less popular than 3e, which is far less popular than 5e. This is not a great source, as older games might have more long running face to face games...

    What are you watching?

I loved Dark Matter. If Killjoys is roughly analogous, I'll have to give it a try!

    Me, Myself & Die!

This podcast has inspired me to finally try the Mythic GM emulator. We have a group game but my 14 year old and I run a fair amount of one on one games. This time, we started a game where we both play and use the emulator. He was initially a tad confused but got into it. I had a vague idea...

    AD&D Second Edition

One of the 3e designers (Monte Cook perhaps?) mentioned this aspect as being in their thoughts in the redesign. D&D was so heavily houseruled and modified that almost no 2 tables were playing the same game. I remember switching groups a couple of times due to moving and people graduating -...

ooc Helm roll, taking stress to push it to 2 dice: 5,3 "Ok, they're distracted, lets get the hell out of here." Steevo jumps into the front seat and quickly makes to rover head for the ship's ramp. He honks the horn in a simple pattern to alert the crew who aren't on the rover to get on the...

Scum and Villainy in-character (IC) thread.

Flashback: Luckily Steevo always prepped for distractions in case things near the ship got hairy and to scare away thieves. He had placed speakers with pre-recorded messages in scrub bushes about 50 meter in front and 50 meters behind the ship. Steevo activates a few switches. From the front...

    The Star Wars '78 thread

This game sounds like how I wish almost all Star Wars was - fun with exciting new characters in strange locations and close escapes. Not overly focused on Jedi/Sith, chosen ones, or trying to exhaustively fill in back stories for existing characters.

    AD&D Second Edition

I never got the hate for thaco. It meant not having to reference tables. Due to the oddities of descending AC, you occasionally had to subtract a negative number but it was still an improvement.
