Wished I could remember the source, but many, many years ago I read that Gene Roddenberry had based the Klingons on the Imperial Japanese of WWII. That has always made sense to me as Roddenberry served in WWII.
I don't mind metacurrency too much, but I think in Star Trek Adventures it's a wee bit broken and needs tweaking. The fact that a PC can choose to roll for success on a task that is 0 difficulty just to try to get momentum is just crazy.

This. I remember standing in a huge line waiting to see it. At minimum it was a love letter to Star Trek fans. Like finarvyn, I'm still in awe watching certain scenes, especially the (rather long) drydock scene. :heart:
