I like OSR retro clones that reduce the amount of PC options, not increase them and it has only two classes, the Swordsman and Spellcaster (not overly hyped on the names but it’s a small grievance).
I agree with you that less options is often preferable. Too bad about the poor choices of names. Swordsman is too specific and the other is too generic.

I am running a B/X game with only two classes, Fighter and Sorcerer. It works just fine.

I backed the Savage World Pathfinder because I was curious to see how they implemented Savage Worlds and trying to nail the spirit of Pathfinder and Golarion. I also liked that you didn't need to snag the new edition of Savage Worlds Core rpg since Savage Pathfinder was complete by itself. That said after reading it a bit since I was on the fence with the changes from Deluxe to Adventure editions, I decided to stop sitting on the fence and snagged the Essentials Box set and the core rpg book. Figured I should since I did back the recent Rifts Atlantis Rising and snagged all the updated SWADE versions of Rifts books. I'd need those rules sooner or later. heh.

I love how the boxes are put together. There is more stuff under the top layer of goodies and room for the core to fit within as well. Pinnacle like Steve Jackson Games tends to do great box design in my opinion.

I took my time picking up this one as well, and I am glad I did.

I just got the book for Savage Pathfinder instead of the box, but haven't received it yet.

Not a recent purchase, but last year I got Dark Streets & Darker Secrets off DriveThruRPG. It’s a nice little urban fantasy/urban horror RPG. I thought it was a good deal for the price when I got it, and it’s $2 as the Deal of the Day on DriveThru right now.

Pristine copy of Deadlands: Hell on Earth (Pinnacle version) for less than cover price. Always wanted ti check it out, I've only ever skimmed any DL stuff. Also got another copy of CoC 3e (GW hardcover). This copy is in great shape, better than my other copy, but this one has had the cover laminated. Which may affect the collectibility, but doesn't bother me. The cover is free from wear, dings and creases, and hopefully the laminate will give it greater longevity. In any event, I can use my other copy as a "reading" copy and leave this one on the shelf.

In the last few days I've received two sets of dice for Fallout 2d20 and some Luck dice for Fallout Wasteland Warfare (although I'll be using them with The Black Hack/The Wasteland Hack rather than the official RPGs).

I've also received physical copies of Dogs of War and Pulse Pounding Pulp! (for Everywhen), Tiny Cthulhu, TinyZine Compendium 2020, Jaws of the Six Serpents, and HP Lovecraft Preparatory Academy (PDQ version).

I ordered Cepheus Deluxe too. The PDF looks interesting and I hope the physical copy gets here soon so I can dig into it a little deeper.

I've run a TFT game with only two classes Fighters and Wizards, worked great. Didn't find it limiting at all

If I could transplant the artwork from Against the Darkmaster into the Mythras book, I think that would be perfection.

Wouldn't that just entail photocopying Angus McBride art and tracing over it?

My favorite version. I'm not sure how rare it is either, but finding a copy in good condition for that price seems like a steal.

Definitely, I snapped it right up even though I’m not sure it’ll get much play.

I've gotten quite a few rpg zines the past couple of months. Also got the new Hostile setting book and Triumphant! 2nd edition. Waiting on Cepheus Deluxe to arrive.

As yesterday was free RPG day, I went to Guardian Games with a friend. Got a copy of Mythic D6 in hardcover for half price; for 25 bucks, I couldn't resist.

The Hogshead paperback is getting pricey. I still have my original hardback (which still stays together thanks to careful taping), a second good condition hardbound, and three of the Hogsheads. I spent about a hundred for the hardbound 20 years ago and about a hundred for the last Hogshead a few years ago. I always get New or Good condition RPG books since I know they’re gonna take a beating once the campaign starts. If you want Acceptable copies, you can get them for 35-50 usually.

I bought Hostile last year if I recall, it's very well done. I need to snag the new Deluxe version of Cepheus darn it.

I bought Hostile last week but haven't had a chance to go through it yet. It, and the supplements, just read like they were going to scratch an itch for me. Cepheus Deluxe is also on my list to pick up.

The original Hostile used the regular Cepheus Engine rules. The new one is just a setting book. There will be a Hostile rulebook coming out in the near future. You can still use the setting with other forms of CE, but I think this new one is based on the author's free 1970's retro rules set, along with the different rules add ons some of the older Hostile supplements featured.

New haul of stuff came in during the past seven days. A few Conan physical books I was still missing and now have. Now I'm just missing the physical Conan Waves Stained Crimson campaign book because it sold out in the Modiphius US store.

A few DnD books to keep up on their material for shits and giggles and a GM screen because I'm always curious on how they change the layouts on those.

I backed the original Midgard Kickstarter and had the pdf of the Zobeck Gazetteer so I had to get the physical book. Also I'm slowly working my way through snagging Goodman Games classic homage series, so Isle of Dread next up since I had the first one that they did Keep on the Borderlands.

Barbarians of Lemuria is pretty cool, seems rules light. Currently reading through it. Unfortunately my Mythras rpg based books I ordered only one came in, Elevation. I'm still waiting on three others that were delayed at the printer. :/

The OSRIC book I had as a pdf and decided to try out Lulu finally by purchasing a physical copy. I had no idea the book would be small, I had hoped it would be a full sized book. :/ It's readable but I'd have liked the option to have Lulu print it the same size as The Isle of Dread or other DnD books for example.

Too bad about that 2d20.

I can’t help myself.
I love the look and art, the layout bites hard. Finding things is really a major pain in the ass. As far as the 2d20 mechanics go, I actually like them at least for Conan. They just need a professional layout editor to go through all the books... hardcore.

Sort of like someone needs to sit down with Lawrence and Pete and have a serious talk about making the font type pop so their Mythras rpg is readable.

Edit: As an aside unless some major Kickstarters rear their heads next month, I'll probably snag the DCC stuff, specifically the Lankhmar material. I think I've resisted due to the odd die types long enough. lol

I tried it with Infinity, and it also had layout issues as you described. There were also issues with its lifepath system, at least with one faction, so I got a “This thing happened to you,” while the game’s fluff is “This thing will never happen to your faction’s members.”

i made the mistake of asking for help on a board about it, and got dog-piled by fanboys who refused to admit the game was less than perfection. That also colored my perception of the game, and the system as a whole.

Exalted finally put out the fully compiled Hundred Devils Night Parade book. Some pretty neat stuff in there.

There's now finally, after three Editions, a properly statted up Third Circle Demon; gigantic wall of snakes that teaches people that adversity is character building by injecting them with venoms that cause psychedelic visions, reshape their capabilities, or cause them to lose unwanted attachments through shedding a skin that then comes to life and slithers around trying to convince other people to adopt those attachments.

I finally got my hardcopy of Cepheus Deluxe today. Looking forward to reading that over the weekend!

I also got a physical copy of The Expanded Magus Hack. Looks like a slick, rules lite version of Mage the Ascension based on The Black Hack rules. Could be good fun.

Not received yet, but I had shipping notification for a copy of Mythic D6 Revised and Active Exploits 2nd Edition today. They should arrive by Thursday next week.

Got the Deluxe PDFs for Stars w/o Number and Worlds w/o Number while I wait for the physical books. I think a crossover where you have a ship dropping people on random planets like Stargate Destiny would be fun to do.
