Any news on the second edition book at all?

At this point I'd think I'd at least get an email saying the book has been delayed, but still absolutely nothing.

Hope they're not waiting on GMS's contribution...

I was thinking the exact same thing last night. I checked to see if I'd missed an email but I hadn't. There's an article on their website, about last weekend's UK Games Expo, that says they had an "early copy" of both versions of the new rulebook for people to look at. I would hope that means copies will be shipping to their warehouse within a month or two at the latest.

I'm not sure when the 5e version will be out but, even though I won't be buying it, I'll probably give it a look. Just to see what they tried to do with it.

No, 2nd edition got announced earlier than the 5e version. The PDF of 2e has been out for about a year or so, I think, and it's been a long wait for physical copies to ship. I'm not sure how close we are to seeing the 5e version, in PDF or hard copy, yet.

For those who are waiting for the physical 2nd Edition: my copy of the limited edition arrived 30 minutes ago. I didn't receive any shipping notification prior to it's arrival so it was a bit of a surprise!

It looks good it has to be said. Although I wish the cover of the book was a classic (preferably 5th Doctor era) Tardis console rather than the current one. The current one is a bit... well... crap. I'm thinking about splashing out on an A3 printer and, if I do, I might have a go at creating a classic console dust jacket for this.

I just received my copy of the limited edition book this morning. I haven't looked at it yet.

I finally received my copy two or three days ago. I took it out of the shipping box and just stuck it on the shelf. I didn't even flip through it. The book took so long to get here that I have to admit that I don't really care anymore. From looking at the PDF for the past year I already know that the book is overall a bad second edition with a couple of bright spots/good ideas which can be stuck into 1e.

That's pretty much how I see it too. 2nd Edition is a tool to help me build my own Dr Who 1.5 edition.

So, I stumbled upon this website dedicated to Doctor Who roleplaying. Looks geared mainly towards DWAITAS (as is to be expected), but it has four free fairly generic Doctor Who modules (most stats given in % for easy conversion to your favorite system). it also has 21 issues of a free Doctor Who roleplaying fanzine. Interestingly, the last issue of the fanzine contains reprints of every issue of The Time Meddlers, an '80s fanzine for FASA's Doctor Who RPG! Most issues are 50 pages or so, but the 21st issue is over 300 pages. Each ish has articles, adventures and tips for GMing through time and space.

Cool stuff, thought I'd share.

Oh, that sounds good. Systemless suits me and I'm always looking for new scenario ideas.
