I grew up in a Hispanic neighborhood and vans with Mesoamerican murals were a thing in the early 80s; they typically depicted a badass native warrior carrying a nearly naked princess. I saw a few wizard vans during this time as as well. This might be nostalgia talking but highly personalized vehicles seemed a lot more common back then.

My Mexican-American significant other swears by art like that on the walls as the sign of a good Mexican restaurant.

Vaqueros and such are also acceptable.

It’s the same reason that everyone picks white, black, gray and silver these days - everyone wants to maximize resell value in order to make it an “investment” instead of thinking of its utility value as the most important element.
