What are y'all up to these days?

The title & cover art make me want to play this.

Cool, working as intended then. I had the art for the big two on the cover (Nest Queen and Rhino-Beetle) created by artist John Ridley. The background and cover are stock items, but it all blended into a decent cover I thought.

The adventure came out of my own players HATING and REFUSING to have a team headquarters/base. It would just be a target they said. We don't want to spend the resources on it they said. Honestly, they are probably right. This adventure pushes the player characters into staffing a public super base on a temporary basis, but it could turn into something more permanent.

The villain team was just me needing to turn the word 'pest' into an acronym and running with an insect theme.

Congrats! Still need to figure out how uploading there works myself. I will need to send KS backers links to "at cost" copies of my first module (where they simply pay DTRPG for printing and shipping) but I'm not sure how the site allows you to do that.

Funny, I feel like running a Kickstarter would be harder than setting up as a publisher on DrivethruRPG. I'd agree with urbwar in seeking advice from their Discord. For example, a couple people set up bundles for the summer camp adventures and I got a lot of sales that would not have happened without being part of a bundle -and all I had to do was opt-in on the bundle.

Read the following on the Chicago subreddit, where people were discussing "Who is Chicago's 'guy'?" (i.e., that guy where you can just say, frex, "Tomato Dog Guy," and everyone from the area will know who you're talking about). I'm posting it in this thread because I'm sure one or more of you fine folks can turn it into gameable content:

"Tamale guy appears out of thin air. I’ve never seen him enter or leave a bar. He’s just appears."

Tamale guy is awesome, btw.

As an FYI, the Triumphant! RPG version of The Menace of P.E.S.T. adventure is now up on DrivethruRPG. The game systems are close enough the conversion is easy to do if you know either system. Plus, Simon Washbourne is easy to work with.

Those are often the best sessions E E-Rocker !

Get a free online Tarot reading on the question "what is going to happen at the beginning of next session", look at the cards and the answer, then go with whatever comes to your mind. Your group shall do the rest, just let the Swo guide you:thumbsup:!

Still have a few hours before game time, and I'm kind of amazed that it took me until now to realize this: at the end of last session, the team was in an abandoned, underground shopping mall. Let me repeat, an abandoned, underground shopping mall. Well, gee that sounds an awful lot like.... a dungeon. Ya know, the thing people in this hobby have been exploring for nearly fifty years? That there are countless examples of all over the internet? Yeah, that. I think I'm good for tonight's session.

Good luck:grin:!

...did you pull The Tower, reversed? Just asking:shade:!

3rik 3rik but of course!
So, dungeon with zombies...that should be as hard to find as mushrooms after a rain:thumbsup:!

"Night Witches" RPG:

October: "Where Night Witches Dare!" - The Night Witches fly an unusual mission; this is the last mission flown on the Kerch Front.
November: "As God Is My Witness, I Thought Turkeys Could Fly!" - The squadron moves to Eastern Europe, and is issued a new and startling Secret Weapon.
December: "Ludmilla, the Red-Nosed Night Witch" - The adventures continue, but the weather is bad and the vodka is running low.
January: "In For The Kill" - The most dangerous mission yet, but one that could win the war at a single stroke.
February: Build month
January: "Hapshepsut's Family Feud" - A game for a friend's birthday, set in Ancient Egypt. Mayhem will ensue.

Our last game saw the squadron attacking a railway yard outside Kerch. And yes, I do RPGs just a little differently than most. Medved brought his crew back, despite being badly shot up, and leveled up.

Releasing the remaining Drifters from the birthing chambers, the Steel Aces are left with no easy choices.

Uncle, you should probably contact the author/s of Night Witches with this picture. I mean, he just might want to see the biggest tabletop set that has ever been used for Night Witches:thumbsup:!

I'm messing around with the mapping software I've bought (Dungeondraft) to use when I want to create digital maps. Doing a dungeon for a couple of old mates from school, plus one of their young lads, based on Warlock of Firetop Mountain. Here's an excerpt of it; an Ogre Lair:

After only a couple of hours playing with it, I'm really impressed with the results it can give.

And an Orc Dining Hall...

I'm enjoying this a lot more than I thought I would! Highly recommend this app. Was only $20 or so and it's really easy to use.

I've also got photos from the previous raid on the airfield, too. I shot about thirty photos of each game, and I'll be doing it again on Saturday during that game as well.

Let me think about this. I don't want to stick my hands in any meat grinders; some folks get pretty bent when they see my games, and I'm not at all sure why. So, we'll see.

Definitely going to have to pick up a copy. I'm done for the month gaming hobby spending though. Broke a grand, so I don't want to irk the wife. lol. Damn busy three days. lol

Well, I can't predict his reaction, I only know that I'd have been flattered. There are all kinds of people, though:thumbsup:.

Check in and let us know what RPGs you're playing, running, reading and/or planning.

I keep this stuff on my signature, but here goes:

I've ceased all tabletop gaming as I scramble to get our house into shape for Baby Butcher (due in a couple of weeks).

But when I scrounge a little time to read up and plan games, I bounce between several games: ACKS, D&D5, Mythras, Traveller/Cepheus, CoD...

What about you?
Man. I posted the first post in this thread. Imagine that.

Haven’t really run any of the games I was thinking of when I posted this.

Weeks become months become years. Baby Butcher is 5 and has everything to be a gamer himself — I think (hope?) — but no example to look up to.

I miss gaming, but it’s close to the last thing in my mind these days. TBH I miss missing it some days — even when I wasn’t actively gaming I was keeping up with releases, buying, reading… I guess I’m officially an ex-gamer?

All I can hope is that the things filling your time/mind are bringing you more joy than gaming now would.

I see your posts on fb, pretty cool, building a business, having a family, I think the saddest part is that it sounds like you are losing some time for yourself. The good thing about gaming is it will always be here for you.

I spent 1992 to 2009 not role playing due to cirumstances (Usually no group and in places difficult to find gamers) but once back in the UK found a local club and started again. This kind of hiatus happens a lot due to life but you come back to gaming eventually.

For me it was Roll20
Not as good as FtF but still good. (you do get some odd birds though)

Started the worldbuilding phase of my Street Fighter game tonight. Got five players, which won't be fulfilling my dreams of the West Marches.. but it should be enough for a solid group. Still a month before game start, so I'm hoping I can still pick up a couple more.

I'm trying to work out my clone, at the same time.

I'm trying to write for Wildspace: a series of articles on multisphere religions, starting with the Path and the Way mentioned in the original Spelljammer books.

On the 15th, I get to run a D&D game at the library again. Once again, "D&D" is going to actually mean The Black Hack. I did mention that we will be using The Black Hack in the promotional materials, so hopefully no one shows up expecting brand-name D&D and ends up disappointed. I was slightly worried about that last time, but it worked out fine.

I've never been interested in watching Actual Plays for entertainment, because for entertainment I would rather, ya know, actually play, or go do something outdoorsy or watch a movie, but I plan to watch some Black Hack actual plays between now and the program. I hope it will help me get a better handle on the rules. The rules are fairly simple, but I know I messed some stuff up last time.

Finishing up my next Halloween Horrors for Supers! Had it about 2/3 done before the Pandemic had me working too many hours. Figured I'd try and finish it so it would be out in time for Halloween this year
