1) Combos: Thanks!
2) Intuition is called out as "adding to Surprised Defence". So it doesn't add to Normal Defence without a boon (there is one)? Then we might get to a point where a socialite has higher Surprised Defence (and not believing a fight is starting might make them more likely to dodge the first assault).
Player: "Nah, I don't believe anyone would resort to violence...Oh! A punch? Quelle surprise!"

3 and 4) ...wait, so what are the Boons that allow you to "add X martial art as supporting characteristic to defence" doing? Don't you get to add Internal Martial Art to defence without "A touch of internal mastery"?
Similar question should apply to "adding your martial art as Weapon Rating" (not Weapon Strength). If you're already adding it anyway - and what MA doesn't teach attack? - what are those Boons doing?

5) Hehe, no, I don't have any such plans. But I know that such events have happened in my campaigns before...
And the Blow Through Boon is exactly what made me remember that "vampires can't procreate by normal means" was explicitly called out in Vampire. Along with rules for the relationship between Humanity and sex drive (which I think our ST had expanded upon).
So I decided it's better to ask now.

2) This is why the Intuition and Perception were moved to once per session bonuses. The idea was that you might get lucky as long as you didn't know the shot was coming.

3 and 4) While I haven't really looked at Fractured Kingdom in depth in some time, the fighting skills were all offensive without a Boon. you wold still want to take things like Dodge and Toughness (if available). I really feel like the build your own style system of Metahumans Rising is more inclusive, but Fractured Kingdom was about flawed heroes so it made sense to force people to chose.

5) This is really more of an at the table conversation, especially if you do Campaign Elements, Lines and Veils, that might be a good time to bring up these topics to see if they are good elements for a game.

3) ...all offensive without a boon? OK, that's surprising! Guess I've missed it.
It's weird, though. I mean, you have a system where you can talk the GM into allowing you to use Orphan as an add-on to an attack...but need a boon to add even inherently defensive styles to your defence! Makes sense mathematically, though.
Huh, and my New Lucid only has 23 defence:grin:!

Also, I don't care for "more or less inclusive", frankly... mechanics aren't inclusive or exclusive to me. They make sense (on both IC and OOC level) or don't. That's it.

Re: Campaign Elements, Lines&Veils - I don't do that. The Referee says what campaign elements might be expected. Everyone else can participate or sit it out. If anyone asks for some elements to be omitted...well, it's up to the Referee to agree and abide by the agreement - or to disagree. I'm a Ref that's known for some nasty stuff.

...though only people who haven't played with my wife think I'm a harsh GM. The rest of them know that she is the one in whose campaigns you really have to be at your toes!

Inclusive may have been a loaded term, I mean that in better for creating a martial art. Granted you still have to take the Boons but it's all kind of backed in.

OK, I'd call that "flexible" - and arguably, true to life:smile:. Sorry, these last days I keep hearing people talking about inclusivity...and frankly, they're starting to bore me to sleep.

But I also can sympathize to your argument that "flawed heroes must choose".

Also, still making the 3rd of 4 Lucids (one of each type, to get a feel for the system). But I'm seeing why you "updated" it to Metahumans Rising:grin:!
Mind you, I still like FK a whole lot. But the flexibility issue that we discussed had been making me consider whether running FK as a setting premise with MR mechanics might not be worth it:shade:.

In short, different design goals. Fractured Kingdom has more of a survival element to it. If you try to stand up to the Baronies eventually things are going to go poorly. They will grind you down, and no mater where you run they can find you, so pick your battles wisely. This is the core difference between Fractured Kingdom's Energy, and Metahumans Rising's Willpower and the cost of using a power.

Then there were a lot of stylistic choices, because of the higher customization needs. It no longer made sense to do Boon Chains in Isolation of each other. because it fit better to have the power more cohesive. This led to the stripping out of all Combat Skills and the addition of Talent Advantages.

To go back to Fractured Kingdom for a second, one of my favorite builds to show off at conventions was the Dark Lucid Tank. While they might seem that Defensive, it's possible and I think a fun build. No Southern Style martial arts required.

Do you want to tempt me to stand up to the baronies? We'll see, I guess. I had one of the main characters taking Major Enemy (Barony X).
But yeah, MR is more "generic superhumans" (due to creating the setting). And all generic games just have to be more customizable than specific ones.

And yeah, of course you don't need Southern Style! In fact, what you need is high ESP&Quick, some Kenna and Tough, the right Focus, and either Soft or External Style 3+ (for a prereq, and because some extra defense never hurts). Then with a few boons you have a tank with multiple non-combat skills, decent offense and the ability to decide when his Active Defense succeeds automatically.

The above can have the ability to decide that 5 times in a row, too.
I guess Yin Style might also do the trick for a(n even) creepier build. Or I'd be tempted to give him Intuitive Style and name him Raoh:grin:!
