1. I don't believe I'm the most knowledgeable person on this forum. Thus, opening such a thread shouldn't be done by me.
2. Such discussions tend to end in bad blood.Literal or virtual one.
3. Not sure what purpose it would serve.The topic is huge,as you know
4. I make profile postings to note something interesting that crossed my mind, or my/my partner's guard. I doubt a thread is the right place for that.

1. Knowledge is not a prerequisite to post about things. Enthusiasm is.
2. It’s the Pub. If it gets heated we’ll talk about food, beer, the weather, water fowl.
3. So’s food and drink and the thread is thriving.
4. It can be, and more inviting for others to interact with you.

I'm going to consider it, then. You make a good argument. Or four.
