The GM inserts and digital map should have been free with a $30 PDF bundle for the two books, rather than bumping the price of said bundle to $40. Seems like basic marketing to me, but what do I know.
There has been no update on their website ( https://www.adom-rpg.com/category/news/ ) since 2019. Does anyone know if the PDFs of the 2 rulebooks are sold anywhere?
I've asked Jason Vey on the KS page, and it appears that the GM inserts are indeed worth $10. As a digital GM with no use whatsoever for screen inserts, it's a bit steep for me -but YMMV.
Seems interesting, but why is it $15 for the Rulebook alone and $15 for the Setting Guide alone, but $40 for both? The only difference seems to be the GM Screen Inserts, but they certainly ain't worth $10, are they?
Totally agree. One of the best cover for a RPG book ever. Also, the SDF-1 from Robotech is hidden in the city skyline on pages 20-21. Nothing can beat that.
Yeah, I certainly don't need yet another sword & sorcery game, but I must say 550+ pages, a high-res map and even a couple MP3s for the price of $0 is unbeatable and the game looks *very* nice.
I've seen the movie, and I have two things to say:
1) It's a very entertaining action-fantasy movie that should appeal to a broad audience.
2) It's actually very close to what an actual 5E game in a high fantasy setting looks like.
Another vote for Palladium Fantasy. It checks every box except 2. Rolls to cast, unless you use rules from Mysteries of Magic or Through the Glass Darkly.
I've played all editions, and SR4 20th Anniversary is the one I liked most. The book is gorgeous, it has everything you need to play in it, and is well organized to boot.
I'm in the same boat.
I understand the niche placement of a physical collectible book, but it seems to me they would boost their sales by catering to the PDF-only crowd too, as it would only broaden their client base, not shrink it. Missed opportunity?
I'll probably get the PDF, because I'm a sucker for Sword & Sorcery and because I've always been fond of Jirel de Joiry.
EDIT: I pulled the trigger on the digital edition :)
+1 with zcthu3.
What you're describing is the Supernatural TV show. The RPG is hard to find nowadays (not to mention very expensive), but you should be able to locate a PDF.
