WOTC made a lot of money with BG3 and for little investment. There's no reason they can't license it again for a BG4 or something.

Damn! 1.5 mil/190% funded, he's crushing it. Good on him for this crit success on the shilling check.
I like the not-beholder and not-mindflayer art. He didn't lie when he said he put the money to get the good stuff.
D&D would be saved if only there was more tits. They could also add cadillacs and the malboro mascot. Then it would make sense that the rangers have to get to level 10 to grim themselves with mud.
Excellent idea! All you really need is a microphone and a video editing software. Lighting and a good mic (more than 40$) is nice if you want a good quality, but depending on the game, a little faux found media could be fun, and those work better if the quality is bad.
And if you want to settle...
I don't think I've ever ran someone else's module/adventure, but there's often stuff there I can use for my own thing, like maps, tables, encounters, that sort of stuff.
I don't remember if the instal I played on had that expansion or not tbh but the increased arcade-y ness was one of the cons for me vs D2. I've spent some time on a few hack n slash (namely D2, Dungeon Siege I & II and Silverfall) but my favourite genres are RTS and RTWP cRPG, so I'll take...
Old D2 was cool but I can confirm Necro is easy mod. Paladin too. D3 was too easy to the point of being boring tho so they could have "rebalanced" the D2 remaster. Most likely not and it's just Necro being Necro. I liked playing Assassin better since it's one of the less good class, but not the...
Some options :
1-Musket balls pack quite a punch. Make each of those rare shots count. Also fire in line/group, so that the risk is rarely taking just one bullet at a time. A predator needs to separate individuals from the group or risk a volley.
2-Horses and dogs.
3-Flanking, harassing and...
So I agree that :
-Athas detonates with most other D&D settings, and the standard fantasy worldbuilding for it's grim take on social order
-Themes of corruption are old as the world, but Athas has more of a post-enlightenment critique than an ancient/medieval one
In context, the difference...
I hated every single Jurrassic World movie because of it.
Though there's also a lot of interesting stuff on that front now. There's a few recent video games that focus on ecosystems and animals behaving as animals.
While I think they might still pull out the extreme monetization they're going for, I also think that they don't care if in the process D&D completely crashes down. This is risky behaviour, I expect there to be some sort of ultimatum behind because WOTC/Hasbro sees it as dead weight.
