    What are you watching?

Watched RAISING CAIN with my dad. DePalma from ‘92. HATED the first time i saw it in the theater. Don’t know what happened — kinda loved it now. Not as much as my opinion on DUNE ( the movie ) changed, but it was something...

Cepheus Engine: Is it based on MGT1 or MGT2?

While it is a clone of MgT1e, remember that the srd of MgT1e did not have any careers in it (think it had one IIRC), so it is also based on the old T20 srd as well...

    What are you watching?

Gutted my way thru a binge of the first season of THE OA. Didn’t think it had a big enough pay off. Just started watching SUCCESSION on HBO. Two episodes in, seems like BILLIONS but harsher. Still hooked. Finished watching THE BOYS. Never read the comic. Thought Season 1 was great. Might be...

Free League announces official Alien RPG

Hill still claims he wrote 80% of the original ALIEN. He lost in arbitration. I am pretty sure Hill and David Gale invented the whole third act, setting up by having Ash be a robot and the company totally screwing over the crew to get a specimen. He was directly involved with the first three...

What do you like that 'everyone' hates?

My three favorite movies are: 1) Dr Strangelove 2) JC’s The Thing 3) Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia Just to note, I have loved The Thing since opening weekend in 1982 when my Dad took me on a Friday night and I snuck into a local movie theater Saturday afternoon. It totally pissed my...

Campaigns You've Wanted to Run, but Never Had the Chance

Here's two campaigns I am always saying I'm gonna run but I don't. Don't know why. 1) a Star Wars campaign. The only cannon is THE NEW HOPE (god I swear it was not called A NEW HOPE the first time I saw it). Up until Luke fires those torpedo bombs down the shaft. Because this time he doesn't...

    Delta Green Rpg

Forget DELTA GREEN. It is too tied into the mythos. What you want is CRYPTWORLD. It's a retro-clone of the old CHILL boxset from the early to mid 80s. It was made to handle Universal Classic monsters like vampires, mummies, etc.

I made a game! Into the Unknown (old school B/X version of 5e)

Bought the game yesterday. Don’t know about others, but it is exactly what I wanted for 5e. Starting a campaign up within a week or two. What is your blog?

    Traveller Settings?

The one guy figured it out but only during the final battle. It did set up the next arc in the campaign, with the Combine and the Federation caught up in a nasty game of espionage. The one thing that sticks out to me is that Traveller is basically run as a modern rpg. Has a thin veneer of SF on...
