Coriolis.
As soon as I read up on this game and it's Mercy of the Icons campaign, I bought all of the books.
I'm a sucker for epic, multi-part published adventure trilogies that totally reshape the campaign setting.
Slightly off topic since I actually love Coriolis.
Wait a minute. RPG match DOESN'T EVEN HAVE AN APP YET?!?!?
I take back what I said. This app doesn't lack legs, it lacks basic organs. This dev cycle is promising to be a slow motion train wreck.
Honestly, I would probably not run a WWII campaign. WW2 is overplayed in my book. WWI is more interesting IMHO.
If someone insisted, I'd probably run a campaign based on extrapolating the Crimson Skies universe to the 1940's.
This tracks with the 6 month old Reddit thread I found which is the only discussion of RPG match I could find.
I have a Bachelors of Business Administration. 6 months is an eternity for app development. There is very little chance of this app having legs.
Is it too early to start welcoming players of 5e retroclones like Shadowdark and Tales of the Valiant into the OSR?
Another winner from the OGL debacle was Free League. I get the impression from the FL staff on the Dragonbane discord that Dragonbane's sudden popularity caught FL off guard.
Kind of surprised by how many Harn fans there are in this thread. I think out of all of the options here Harn actually manages to be Medieval Authentic in a way that lots of other settings fail at. After running Harn, I feel like I understand how the Fuedal system actually worked.
I would...
I'll be honest, so much MAB is saying in that thread just flat out does not pass the smell test. There is no way in hell any aspiring TechBro is going to even hear about pre emptively banning potential customers because they had a spat with Forum Janitors two decades ago. This goes double for...
RPG.net did have LOT of clout once. A long, long time ago. 20+ years ago. That's an eternity on the internet. The previously mentioned CthulhuTech is just one of a few notches in their 6 shooter. Others being F.A.T.A.L. and Ravenstar. The creators of which were more or less drummed out of the...
I wasn't aware that NuWhite Wolf were still active. I thought Paradox fired them all after the Chechen Vampire genocide fiasco.
As for Holden Shearer, the less I say about him the better. The last time I had interactions with him on Twitter was after he was de-modded. He behaved like an...
Nail, head, etc.
We do need to remember how much power TBP used to have. For a while in the late Naughts, TBP were functionally industry gatekeepers. If the mods and their pet users decided they didn't like you or your product, you were hosed. Just look at what happened to Wildfire LLC and...
Which is why I'm honestly kind of stunned that Hasbro backed down the way they did. WotC would have been in a much stronger position is the executives had demanded full steam ahead.
That said, in the longer term WotC would have kneecapped the momentum of the D&D craze and created a huge Cadre...
I learned about the TBP from searching for RPG related materials in the early 2000's. I was very quickly put off the site by how rude and hostile many users were. I also noticed how certain users could be as hostile and nasty to others as they wanted, and their targets were punished for...
We are running a donation drive this month to help offset the costs of running the Pub and to avoid running intrusive ads in the future. If you would like to help out please visit this thread for more details. Thank you!
