When CR got hired by Geek and Sundry, they were already playing a home game of Pathfinder. 5e had just come out at the time, and due to the simpler rule set, Matt thought it would work better for streaming than Pathfinder. Remember, streaming ttrpgs wasn’t really a big thing back in 2015. Now...

I don’t think it’s a big mystery why a game publishing company (Darrington Press) would want a wholly unique game to publish. One that they own all the rights too.

Both games were in development before the WOTC fiasco. And Daggerheart already has more buzz and activity than Candela Obscura did. It’s gonna be a bigger hit. Will it have legs? Who knows. But to think it’s gonna be a blip on the radar is underestimating it imo.

I’m signed up for a playtest session this Sunday. I’m looking forward to it. Most actual play reactions I’m seeing (that aren’t YouTube drama channels) are pretty positive overall.

I’d say my one true “disappointment” would be that the GM rolls anything. I was really hoping for it to be dice-less on the gm side.

Well, I’m enjoying the game so far. Just making characters on demiplane. Each one is one I would be happy to play in a full campaign. I do plan on running some games for my group. Just don’t know when I will be able to do that yet.

Define DND mechanics? It uses a different rule system entirely.

Just finished the two seasons of “Resident Alien” that Netflix put up. Show airs on Syfy. But I enjoyed this show way more than i thought I would. Alan Tudyk is a treasure.
