It was nice while it lasted.

July is "Independence from Hasbro" Month

The first time I saw MtG, I watched two people who owned the comic store thinking of purchasing the game, play it. At the end of this, there was a discussion of their sales model. “Ah,” I said. “The old baseball card model.” Afterwards, I was asked my own opinion. I believe I said something...

July is "Independence from Hasbro" Month

Current corporate thinking perceives ‘goodwill’ as something they can manufacture, as opposed to an organic quality that exists outside their power to control. So I would argue the board does not believe in the same things we, as drones, believe in.

    What are you watching?

Three Thousand Years of Longing; on Amazon Prime. It’s a visually stunning movie that might perplex modern audiences. It is however a pretty standard 1001 Nights-style storytelling film, the magical stuff is intriguing.

    Pathfinder 2E Remaster (A.K.A. Pathfinder 2.5E)

I am Totenham Evil. Prepare to die. *90 minutes of fighting later without a single death/point scored*

    Pathfinder 2E Remaster (A.K.A. Pathfinder 2.5E)

I always thought your character’s moral or ethical core should have been solely the result of your choices in play, rather than said sports team. It was a big part of why I gave up playing D&D in the 1980s.

    Revenge of the Diregoose

Nah, they could manage. You got a sense of it in person.

    Revenge of the Diregoose

I was warned they could disembowel if threatened. And that inner foot claw is huge, and would totally get the job done if it made its mark.

The Endless Flight into 70s and 80s Fantasy Films

I watched Ilya Muromets this evening. It was a great looking, very Soviet-era film that has a huge cast. While some elements have REALLY, REALLY, REALLY NOT AGED WELL! , overall it as a pretty good folk tale.

    What are you watching?

Ilya Muromets! If you can look past the brick-to-the-face racism concerning Mongols/Tartars, and the obvious Soviet-era propaganda, it's a pretty good tale. Even a three-headed, fire-breathing dragon (that uses an actual WWII-era Soviet flamethrower) in the final act!

    What are you watching?

I did eventually notice the lack of French actors in one of those.
  13. Nobohom

    What are you watching?

Not sure if the actors knew or not, but they did shoot both at the same time.

    Revenge of the Diregoose

In real life, which I normally avoid talking about here, I did come within a foot of a Cassowary in the aftermath of a cyclone, near a beach in Far-North Queensland. It was a strangely magical experience. But I was prepared to be disemboweled if the encounter went poorly.

    Revenge of the Diregoose

They Made Me Promise To Keep Their Secret.

    Pathfinder 2E Remaster (A.K.A. Pathfinder 2.5E)

When I first read the PF 2.0 rules, it dumbfounded me they did not already do this. The RAW make it pretty clear the '10 as a base' nonsense is un-necessary, included like some sort of legacy code they were too lazy to write out with their new version.

    The Dank Memes

    One more for the ages.

    Pathfinder 2E Remaster (A.K.A. Pathfinder 2.5E)

I will say, making the 'change' from calling something a 'ten' to 'zero' - which was its real value anyway - is blowing some players' minds. Good thing Space Opera is out of print, or they could be criminally liable for blowing up readers minds!

    What are you watching?

I think Not Completely Shit is easily mistaken for Good or Great these days when it comes to franchise storytelling.
