>>I run horror. The kind that's horrifying to people who were watching Texas Chainsaw Massacre in Kindergarten. The kind that would make Kult get up and say "whoa, that's a bit bleak there mate".
Daaayum. My group says I do personal and techno-horror like a champ, but I'm willing to bet you'd...
Well, there's the game that my avatar is from, Shadowfist, and it was a sad lingering death. It honestly started dying right after the first expansion and lost any attention it had from the CCG scene, and when it started trading owners like socks. Finally died with a whimper when a Kickstarter...
If any of you folks are religious/spiritual in any way, keep me and my wife in your thoughts sometime, would you? She's lost someone important to her this week, and on top of that, I've learned I'll need a kidney transplant yesterday and my working days are about to come to a very abrupt end.
I found an older edition of KT in my portable drive and looked. The core book doesn't have Termies, but the Elite sourcebook does and yes, they did have 2+ saves. Grey Knights too.
The Warriors: Come Out and Play
Me and the wife had a good time with it. Pretty cheap too, game store that was selling it had them on reduced to about 18 bucks. Very worth it and, this is a big benefit in my house, takes up little space.
I still yearn to one day play a skirmish game depicting...
Twas not D&D but Star Frontiers that brought me into the hobby back in 1988. I did play things like Dungeon!, Awful Green Things from Outer Space, and King of the Tabletop (bless you Tom Wham) beforehand, but that was my first actual RPG.
Don't feel bad. I still have the uncompleted manuscript for an RPG centered around Cold War NSA psychics vs the KGB psychic division that goes back to 1996 :P
Full Tilt! Loved that the one time I played it at a convention and further proof the best 'Hammer stuff was usually in the small humble forms like this (along with Brewhouse Bash and Pit Fighter).
For me?
FANTASY-Grimdark, Warhammer Fantasy or Age of Cimmeria style. Magick is rare, potent, and scary.
MODERN-Action Movies, full stop. HK action ranking top, but also like martial arts exploitation too.
Sci Fi-Horror/Suspense themed, with Alien style chunky cassette tech or even Disco-punk...
Only WW2 game I did was a one shot CoC (and this is before Achtung! Cthulhu was a thing) game of a lost American patrol doing a sweep operation in a bombed out Berlin and running afoul of a ghoul clan that had taken advantage of the mayhem to stuff themselves and begin conducting rites to their...
Slight amendment to my post; Historic-One, the people who publish the current iterations of Cry Havoc actually reccomend anyone getting into the game go with the Guiscard 2 ruleset instead. It streamlines and improves on the old 80's set. You don't have to get the G2 board game, thankfully, to...
Finding a new level pack for Blood: Fresh Supply is always a treat. Currently on Trauma Therapy, and it's pretty high quality, almost to Death Wish levels. Oh, and sweet cheezus, it's hardcore even by Blood standards...
Been awhile since I read a book that gave me a good existential crisis, so...
Definitely see where the Paranoia RPG got a good chunk of it's mentality from and why it's high on their inspiration list.
We are running a donation drive this month to help offset the costs of running the Pub and to avoid running intrusive ads in the future. If you would like to help out please visit this thread for more details. Thank you!
