Sounds like a shittier version of Lighthouse. But I enjoyed the personalities of the strippers.
Gaming-wise, I never fudge. Except when I do. The times it has happened, it was heat of the moment and never premeditated.
Very rare.
"Here's a dungeon full of monsters and treasure. "
Have him roll up and run a couple of characters. Add a few friendly NPCs to the party (like the old soldier with lots of good advice, and the funny cleric (or thief) to keep things light and to get the RP rolling). And have fun.
He'll be...
BUT! I checked the link and the production values seem very nice, including a return to original map colours (or close to it).
Yet I suspect the 300 page pdf bonus rules are under-playtested chaff.
Played the hell out of first edition, disliked the 25th anniversary edition, which had changes for the sake of changes, sloppy editing, dumb map, inferior chits and advanced game rules only on cd and not paper. The fleets on rivers rules were pita. A cynical rush job.
I wish them well.
Can I also say that I'm happy you did not give this a class a "Turn Undead" ability?
FYI: Dragon has an NPC Bandit class is issue #63. They allow chain, tracking and also .... cover tracks. Worth a look.
Hey in a game with no ranger or thief, this class would probably work very well. In this context, you really don't need to have stringent stat minimums, as it's a base class, for this game.
For some flexibility, let the outlaw wear chain, but then he loses his deadly sneak attack while doing...
Why the special diplomacy bonus? The old school Ranger was a monster killer, and the old school thief just wanted your stuff. Wouldn't that just be covered by CHA score?
I am uncomfortable with the liberal allowance for heavy (chain) armour, as well as no minimum ability scores?
Doesn't seem...
Escapism, by a long shot, I guess. I don't want to explore many hot button political and social issues that would get me banned from this forum. Just for example. Fuck exploring. I'd be better off being politically active than have play time with my anger and despair. It's just not the...
I'll agree. We are seeing a progression to that sort of game. I also think that be publishing a lot of tourney modules, TSR primed a big part of the market for it.
Dragonlance is 1984, Slavers is 1980. If Slavers is not intended for campaign use, then Dragonlance should not be intended as a campaign either. We do know both were intended for continued, serial, play with recurring characters Which sounds suspiciously like a campaign. They are just not...
I doubt the intention was that clear. Anyway, the Slaver series was later repackaged to be the bridge between T1-4 and GDQ! So it was part of a complete campaign.
OK, so in my ongoing Rolemaster game my character's party had a near TPK and the survivors were captured and imprisoned by some nothighlanders, losing all out gear and money. After a few months of jail, circumstances allowed us to bust our way out. In the process of getting-the-gang-back-...
