    Let's Read the ALIEN RPG

So as Alien GMs, what the fuck do you do with the “Prometheus and Alien are mutually exclusive” problem.
  2. CRKrueger

    Let's Read the ALIEN RPG

Well Hudson said “Is this gonna be a stand-up fight, Sir, or just another Bug Hunt.” When Gormley references a “Xenomorph may be involved“, Hicks answers, “A Bug Hunt”. So I always took that to mean that they had faced several Alien Encounters where it wasn’t sentient troops ( a stand-up...

    Tweaking RuneQuest Glorantha?

Players do tend to love it, but it is a bit harder on the GM.
  4. CRKrueger

Whole Lines of WFB Minis Getting Discontinued

Yeah, they can’t bring it back as a Limited Run if they don’t yank it. Gotta keep the artificial scarcity going.
  5. CRKrueger

Grim & Perilous now ... Cannon Otter Studio?

Me and @Baulderstone aren’t exactly besties, but that’s pretty wild.

Mod+ How does religion make sense in a D&D-like setting?

Heh, he's talking about this system making a good game mechanic for magic. Did some digging, he's a D&D GM.
  7. CRKrueger

Mod+ How does religion make sense in a D&D-like setting?

    This guy's a real find.
  8. CRKrueger

    Tweaking RuneQuest Glorantha?

I think skill lists should do three things. 1. Facilitate play 2. Support the setting 3. Support very long campaign play So I like skills that you might use only once every 5 sessions, especially if they represent a Cult skill or something you may need later.
  9. CRKrueger

Mod+ How does religion make sense in a D&D-like setting?

Touché . I'm sure though if I had access to them, a Taoist Monk and a Sufi Ascetic would have been awesome too.
  10. CRKrueger

Mod+ How does religion make sense in a D&D-like setting?

For some reason, Rabbis and Jesuits always seem to be the most interesting people to talk to about this stuff.

Grim & Perilous now ... Cannon Otter Studio?

    Someone has been paying attention.

Grim & Perilous now ... Cannon Otter Studio?

Daniel Fox is a Marketing guy. His chosen path in life is to deceive people to get them to believe things that aren't true and purchase accordingly. His aggressive, balls out strategy for Zweihander in the days before an official Warhammer worked. His move towards Zak, and the immediate...

Mod+ How does religion make sense in a D&D-like setting?

I understand no one wants to do a deep dive in cosmology and societies and religion for a game of D&D. But...that doesn't mean we should just cut and paste because the academics say so and we nod our head and say "It is known".
  14. CRKrueger

Mod+ How does religion make sense in a D&D-like setting?

1d4 Investigators per round aren't sure it matters.
  15. CRKrueger

Mod+ How does religion make sense in a D&D-like setting?

Well, my point isn't that you can determine by glance whether the "Magic" is Wizardry/Alchemy/Sorcery/Thaumaturgy/Theurgy/Necromancy/Deism/Druidism/Mysticism/Shamanism or whatever the hell. My point is...using the real world where the only "proof" comes via belief isn't the best reference point...
  16. CRKrueger

Mod+ How does religion make sense in a D&D-like setting?

Jesus Dude. People who pray for months that their family member gets better **BELIEVE** that the prayer worked if the person gets better. There's no actual proof one way or another, "God works in mysterious ways." People who watch a priest Lay on Hands on a family member and watch that family...
  17. CRKrueger

Mod+ How does religion make sense in a D&D-like setting?

You essentially keep echoing Arthur C. Clarke. Which is fine, but a society that doesn’t know enough to not know science isn’t magic is not a good basis for comparison to a society that knows magic is Magic.
  18. CRKrueger

Grim & Perilous now ... Cannon Otter Studio?

Hard Target has Yancy Butler. Don’t forget a Cajun Wilford Brimley riding into battle on a horse.
  19. CRKrueger

Grim & Perilous now ... Cannon Otter Studio?

Finding out who owns what with this property is like digging through the Panama Papers.
  20. CRKrueger

Mod+ How does religion make sense in a D&D-like setting?

Except if when the Protestants came to the door they could make it rain on your crops, raise your dead child and cure your Grandma of cancer, you might think twice about saying no. People only need to believe and have faith in things that they have no proof or evidence of. Blessed are those...
