More comments regarding whether faith is belief or objective:
In Steve Long's Turakian Age setting for Fantasy HERO, he describes the main religion as "henotheistic" - as in, because there is a pantheon of gods that is real and external to belief, most, if not all races worship the same gods...
In Grim Legions - and no, it's not a core book, and not written by Seabolt - there's one of those great Churchill quotes where his staff tells him the Italians joined the German side and he says, "it's only fair, we had to have them last time."

It's one of those things like MACHO WOMEN WITH GUNS where the cheese factor is obvious but there's actually a game in there. And the art came straight from the comics, so it was really good.
