The biggest change between this and the big gold book is that to cripple/remove a limb you need to do 3 times the locations HP instead of twice HP. Other than that nothing seems really new-fangled. Sure, a minor change here and there, which always happens between editions, is present.
I'm iffy on them. When Erickson is rocking he rocks like there's no tomorrow, but, like most writers, some of it isn't on par. I couldn't finish the 4th book, but I'll read the 5th when I get around to it in the next couple of months.
I was rucking twice a week (3.2 miles), walking 3 times, and bicycling twice until my hammer toes got too bad. Now i sit around and dream about walking/rucking/bicycling. The good news is I see a podiatrist in little over 2 weeks so I can get my toes fixed. Then I'll build back up before...
I might have half that amount left, if not a third. I went minimalist in my life and don't have crap for games anymore. This doesn't include pdfs, for which I have gigs of them). I'm left with some 1E AD&D and various clones like Hyperborea, Ars Magica, BRP (RQ 3, CoC, the new BRP book...
Once I wake up for this day, I'll get to reading that stuff. Time to brew the coffee.
*I always wake slowly. One of my meds levels me...
Same here. I should use the EABA way instead of my mastery of handwavium.
I was reading an article or watching a video about old people and keeping their brain working well. Learn a new skill, drop it, and then learn something new, repeat. Fascinating stuff.
There are a few changes I like. At least changes from RQ3 which was my go to game for many years.
1. Rounding is always up now instead of down.
2. Hit locations become totally worthless at 3 times their HP instead of double.
I'm sure there's more, but I'm half awake waiting on coffee.
FATE: Can't wrap my head around it, and I like FUDGE.
PbtA: Blah.
D&D 3 and onwards: I see feats and my eyes immediately glaze over. Also the HD going on forever.
I received the proof read this pdf and that cleared up my question.
I was meaning crit charts like, say, from Against the Darkmaster. I'm interested in something like that, so I'll work on my own and see how it goes. :)
Not good editing so forgive me tagging everything. Also on my iPad and that screws me up typing.
The Mountain will roll in BJJ with a black belt and crush the guy cause he’s just too strong for the black belt. I was reading or watching something about it a week or so back.
You guys mentioning...
Not a fan of them. I see gnomes mentioned, and I like them so I modified them into dwarven spellcasters/priests. A dwarven wizard is a gnome. Easy peasy
