    I'm here with it. A lot of Fantasy settings don't have the infrastructure to have firearms appear regularly. Warhammer is one of the few who does it.

    Your conflating prosperity with progression. Not the same thing. HOWEVER, the fact that India had open its borders meant it did have both.

    I think the term is more 'Agnosticism', or maybe more 'I don't mess with The Gods, maybe They won't mess with me.' as a sort of retaliatory belief.

    Here's the rub, even if this is true (Which it is in a lot of D&D settings), the average person is STILL going to worship a god so THEY CAN ENTER TOO! The fact that the rewards for proper worship are known and attainable would make it MORE likely to get followers.

    First powered airship in the world: 1852. It took MORE than just 70 years. Humans had been trying to make flying vehicles since the 1400s. As other people pointed out, society changed drastically when the Gonne was first introduced. It became a lot more urbanized for one thing.

    Yes. And a lot of fantasy gaming, especially American stuff, uses Hollywood as a basis for a LOT of it's ideas.
