I find myself switching from converting spells and magical abilities over to converting cyberware and all manner of technical gadgetry. As part of this, I had long-since decided that I was going to include sections on "Implant Flaws" to make things a little bit more interesting and, perhaps...
I don't think I need more cyberpunk in my life. Looking through my collection of games, most recently Cities Without Number, I realized I have more cyberpunk stuff than I could ever reasonably play. And, to be frank, why would I want to? As a genre, it's grown increasingly stale and...
I recently played through Cyberpunk 2077 and absolutely loved the way "hacking" went. Quickhacks, in particular.
Essentially it was spellcasting vs. technology, including cursing, blinding and damaging people as long as they have cybernetic implants.
It was simple, cool and effective.
Now...
There's a new cyberpunk fantasy tabletop RPG in the works named Subversion, by some of the developers of Shadowrun 6E. It's been described as "Shadowrun's Pathfinder." Looks interesting, with a Kickstarter campaign set for late February.
I was just doing some articles on my favorite cyberpunk books and it occurred to me that there's not much talked about this genre beyond the classics, so I thought I'd make a thread to celebrate both the old and new cyberpunk novels. There's some truly fantastic near future sci-fi dystopia crime...

Like Alien, this is a bit too specific for my taste (though it could be awesome, as Alien reportedly is). Curious to see how it does for them.
Is it just me or did we go from just a few cyberpunk games, CP2020, Gurps, Shadowrun if you consider its mashup sufficiently cyberpunk, to a huge number now?
Cryptomancer, The Veil, Retropunk, The Sprawl, CP Red, the 5e cyberpunk game whose name escapes me, Crystalpunk for 5e, is there a BitD...
Been mulling over this setting(2098) for a while.
My quandary: What the current 2020(June 22, 2020) Powers That Be's reactions would be to an alien space battle going on that is visible from earth. Especially once debris starts to rain down.
How many buttons are pushed, which/how many missiles...
It's a pretty solid system for what it does, pretty 'old school' I guess but okay. I'm going to run a small game with some friend just because its that year and I'm planning on using it for a Solo role-playing experiment too when I work up the nerve. Does anyone have House rules they've adopted...
The reason I put inspiration in quotation marks is because some of this stuff may hit a bit too close to home and be kinda scary but hey that makes it all the better for updating a Cyberpunk game.
With the prominence of the net in our lives I’m surprised I haven’t seen a Cyberpunk game that...
I do recognise that this more pertains to the video-game release, but it may possibly impact on the upcoming tabletop game too and, after all, it is based on the original tabletop IP anyway.
So…..they had a big launch for the X-Box game to be released in April next year (2020, no less), with...
so, apparently in the video demo at e3 they showed hacking someone for some kind of domination. Like... I assume hacking their brain. Was this a thing in cp2020? I don’t remember it.
So I have more notes, but these notes are succinct enough to put on here for some discussion. I'd put it on the TDM boards, but... well... they aren't ready, and I'd like a little more freeform discussion.
Basic idea - treat cybernetics like they are Sorcery effects, only all Enchanted.
The...
I've been tinkering with doing cyberpunk using Mythras. Part of this is because I like the system better than shadowrun. Part of it is because my players actually know Mythras at this point. But the question in me remains what is needed to make it work.
So, I ask you, shrine to gaming, what do...
