Any additions here? I'm commandeering our digital photo frame for the game room

The color scheme and digest-sized booklet always reminds me of Traveller. I think the stark image of a lone figure in the dark shooting at an unseen enemy is more evocative than the covers of later versions of Recon, although Palladium's Deluxe Revised Recon and Advanced Recon have nice full-color covers as well.

I always liked the cover art for the slipcase of Hidden Kingdom (the other Arthurian RPG that came out in 1985), but have never been able to wade through the dense rules.

(The sparse black-and-white interior art is about on par with what we got in the better-known King Arthur Pendragon.)

Edit: It also came with two large maps that I figured I'd post here since I doubt many Pubgoers have seen this game.

Apparently you can get the PDF here

Indeed that's a great cover. Why you don't like the 7th Sea 2 system? I don't know it myself.

Lots of red x's in the early pages of this old thread.

I think I posted a Stormbringer/Elric cover; not sure what else. Will see if I can correct my old post.

Necrotic Gnome's doing a great job with the art choices. Based on the portfolios Gavin recently announced for his upcoming Dolmenwood setting books, I think those are going to be shown off in a lot of "best art" discussions.

Oh, man! I don't know how I managed to forget about Beyond the Wall. Yes, those are some of the best covers.

Pauliina Hannuniemi's art work is some of the most breathtaking fantasy stuff around right now. I absolutely love it, and will unquestioningly back Dolmenwood once the KS goes up.

Yes, her work is very reminiscent of Eyvind Earle's art for Disney's Sleeping Beauty. It's enchanting, if I can be cliche. I can't wait to see what she creates for Dolmenwood.

Didn't spot it upthread anywhere...

The Arduin covers were pretty cool...

And I'm personally very fond of the Danforth art on the cover of this U.K. printing of 5th edition T&T:

I always liked the box covers for Heroes of Olympus. I don't know why the artwork changed as the game only had one edition.

I'm not sure which is the original, but I have two copies of this one and I've never seen a physical copy of the other one:

I like it better because it's more dynamic and looks like an exciting game waits within (which is correct), whereas the other one, though nicely drawn, is rather dull and staid.

Another one where I couldn't find a good image online so snapped a quick photo of my copies: Justice Inc. and the Lands of Mystery supplement both had wonderful covers that perfectly complement their respective subjects. Justice Inc.'s cover was so good another pulp game recycled it 20-odd years later.

Two fisted tales the Savage world pulp RPG as I recall

I love how the DCC module covers mix the aesthetic of 1970 pulp fantasy paperback covers with heavy metal and prog album covers from the same era.
