Well, because the cover states that it is "abridged by Gordie Howe from an abridgment by William Goldman" and that it's a "plagia-riffic novel" so it would just be warmed-over stuff from The Princess Bride, not something new.

What's funny here is you could easily write a really fun series about the swashbuckling adventures of Iñigo Montoya as he searched for his father's killer before the events of The Princess Bride. You could even use the tilde in his name and give him (and the Spanish language) the proper respect.
